Friday 8/30 Even first timers

The morning started out a little slow picking at a few shorts and then we found an area with better action with some keepers. Just about everyone is catching fish but not all get keepers fluke. The afternoon was about the same with Denise getting the pool and my friend Nancy getting her fist fish of her life and a keeper. Quite a few years to never go fishing(second pic). Teacher Bob made his appearance after a few weeks and got his keeper as did Ed and Sean. Here are some pics from the afternoon trip as the camera did not work in the morning so mate Steve did send the A M pics to my face book page. Thanks for looking in and sailing half day trips every day including labor day.

Thurs 8/29 Gave her luck

We had to deal with the wind but although the drift was fast it was fishable. Picked away at shorts and keeper fluke around the boat on both trips. Half way through the morning a young lady had a sea gull poop land on her head and of course the saying it is good luck came up as everybody teased her.  As it turned out  she later caught the pool fish. Weather looks good for the next few days so come on down. Thanks for looking in and here are pics of some of the fish.

Weds 8/28 Never quit early

We were able to fish where we had fish before the northeasterly winds that made it too rough to go there. Caught a couple of keeper fluke and some shorts on the first drift that started the morning off. worked a couple of other areas and picked away at shorts and some keepers around the boat ending up with almost double digits in keepers. Left the camera at home so got some pics on Jane's phone that I cant get out of my e-mail, will post them later. And by the way, the pool fish was the last fish caught just before we blew the horn to go in, so fish to the end. We did not make it out in the afternoon due to not enough showing up. .Thanks for looking in.

Mon/Tues We can now get outside

On Monday we stayed in the bay with the rough seas out on the ocean. Picked at shorts but no keepers in the morning. On the afternoon trip we ventured out to where we have been fishing but there was a big swell. Got a keeper fluke and a few shorts but the drift was fast and the swells were uncomfortable. Moved in closer and picked at shorts. Tues morning we stayed in the bay trying different spots then went out on the knoll but still only shorts. On the afternoon trip we again picked shorts but got a couple of keepers along with some blues. Only got one pic on the camera from Tues afternoon. The weather looks a little iffy with showers in the forecast today but we will be there to go if enough show up and will be able to fish outside. Thanks for looking in.

Sat/Sun 8/24 & 25 The wind

The Northeasterly winds made it tougher to fish the last two days, more so on Sunday where we had to stay in the bay. Was rolly but not rough on Tues morning trip but we picked at shorts but only a couple of keepers.Rest of report at the bottom.

On the  afternoon we did fish in the ocean until the current got too strong. We had a good pick of shorts and a couple of nice bigger keepers that we could not get pics of(camera batt died). Sunday we stayed in the bay where it was comfortable with a slow pick of shorts but did get a couple of keepers at the end of the morning. I the afternoon did the same and got 3 keeper fluke. Back at it today so come enjoy the cooler weather. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Friday - oops and ladies did it

I think I did not post the Wed sand Thurs report and only the" rest of the pics" part went up so I did it again. It went into the draft mode and I didn't realize it, dah !  Friday we  did not have the action we had on the previous days but did end up with a decent amount of keepers in the morning trip. On the afternoon trip we picked ok at shorts and sea robins but fewer keeper fluke with only the ladies catching them and the pool. Looks like some windy weather from the NE coming in the next few days, so not sure we can go where we want but at least we have a bay to revert to where it won't be rough. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics although the pool winner in the afternoon did not want her pic taken so her husband held it up.

Thurs and pics from the last couple days

We did not have the action we had yesterday and not as many keepers but it was a nice day on the water with the breeze. The crowds are thinning out during the week so now is the time to come down.  here are the pics but may post the rest tomorrow as  there are quite a few. Thanks for looking in. From oldest to recent and more tomorrow morning.

Tues/ Weds Fluke & blues action

Tuesday was not as good as the two days before picking at shorts but not as many keeper fluke. A few each trip, but Weds they turned on  with some guy getting two keeper fluke and others around the boat with lots of action form the shorts. Catching 8 or 10 keepers on the boat these days is good for a half day trip.We also caught a few blues especially on the afternoon trip, but they do sometimes  bite off the hooks. Have good pics but forgot the camera so will post them later. Thanks for looking in and see you soon.

Monday 8/19 weathered the storm

Had a nice morning with a light breeze on the shady side but the other was side was warm. Picked at short fluke and some nice keepers to 6 1/2 lbs. We also got some keeper black sea bass. The afternoon trip was cooler with the  southerly breeze but it was against the current so the drift was not as straight. After a couple of drifts we did boat a keeper fluke and the got hit with some rain and wind for about 20 min. It must have woke uup the fish as on the  last drift we picked away at shorts and keepers. Thanks  for looking in and here are Monday's pics. Sailing every day, 2 trips at 8 AM and 1:30 PM.
