Monday 6/29 a hot one

It was a hot morning and afternoon with very little breeze until on the way in on the afternoon trip. Please bring enough water or hydrating liquids in your cooler as we are not allowed to sell anything.  Also bring and wear a mask when you board and leave the boat. Fishing(catching) was just ok picking at short fluke, sea robins, some dogfish(sand sharks) and skates, when the current eased up. We did boat a few nice keepers around the on both trips with Artie catching 2 in the afternoon. Sailing 2 trips every day @ 8 AM and 1:30 PM but please arrive by 7:15 AM on weekends, 7:30 weekdays, or call ahead of you will be late so you don't lose your spot. On the afternoon trips 1PM and reservations are suggested but not required, and its only a phone call. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics. PS the bait store in the harbor is closed so stop on the way at Atlantic(Pete's), Julians or the Tackle Box, if you need gulp or something as we only provide spearing.

Sat /Sun reports Blue cooler?

We went out with not many fisher people on board on Sat morning and picked slowly at the fish boating only a a couple of keeper fluke while we picked at the shorts. The afternoon was better turn out wise and fishing wise with more keeper fluke and more action with the shorts. The wind picked up with impending t storms and it got a little rolley but not rough but we never got any storms, only a few light showers. Capt Bob-O (Bob Kubiak) did catch his 3 fish limit but missed the pool. Today we fished the same area and picked, but not fast, at short fluke and keepers.  A few more keepers then we have been seeing especially in the afternoon, with double digit numbers of keepers, which for these days is good. The guys in the pulpit put a nice catch together.  Hope everyone is well and hope to see you soon. Don't for get to call &  reserve your spots, especially on weekends, and please bring a wear a mask when boarding. And btw someone left a blue cooler under the bench last week that had food and a hat in it, so please claim it. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Friday 6/26 Hangin in

In the morning the drifting conditions were not great but managed a few short fluke then moved on.  Connected with few keeper fluke and some more shorts. Malcom Sillars took the pool in the morning with a nice fish that I netted cause I happen to be there. On the afternoon trip we got lucky and boated 3 keeper fluke on the first drift before we lost it, the drift that is. Tried a few other areas only finding shorts but then had another drift with a few keepers on it including a nice black sea bass that we had to throw back. The action is not what it was but there some to be caught. Roger Lee took the pool in the afternoon just beating out Woody's two keepers. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in. Btw there is still spots left on trips the next few days.

Weds / Thurs 6/24 & 25

The fishing slowed up a little as new fish have not been moving into the bay. Still catching short fluke but not as fast with a few keepers mixed in.  Of course, when conditions (the drift) are better we usually do better, but at least we re fishing close and the weather has been nice with calm waters. Thurs afternoon, Jeff (Bob) Goodman, called him by the wrong name last time, showed his buddies up by taking the pool with one of his two keepers. Here are  few pics from the most recent back. Thanks for looking in and stay safe.
