Weds 12/27 update

Hope everyone had a nice happy, Merry Christmas and holiday.  We did not bother trying to go out today with the severe cold temps, not above freezing, and yesterday only one guy showed to go out but those that did, did not have a good time with cold temps and gusty winds. Tomorrow looks the same with 20 -25 knot winds and very cold temps, so we will not be going out although  I did get a couple of calls. With today's technology I wonder why fishermen would want to go out in rough, freezing spray on everything and below freezing temps. Sorry not for me and it is also safety hazard when the decks freeze to ice from the spray and and the bait crabs don't stay alive.  We will see what happens for Friday and Saturday, but it will still be cold. Thanks for looking and stay warm and safe.

12/24 Christmas eve tog

It was a little raw today with N E winds and cool temps but it was not rough. We made a few drips catching shorts and a few keeper blackfish on each one.  No limits but some had 2 or 3 keepers on down to just shorts. We are not sailing tomorrow with the wind forecast but will try again on Tuesday. the rest of the week looks like it will not get above freezing so we will see what happens. Thanks for looking in and have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New year if we don't see you. Here are only a few pics of only a few of the fish as a some did not want their pic taken, including a beautiful sun rise.

Friday 12/22 report

Well to say the least I was very disappointed with the turn out on Weds for our Striper special after seeing bass boats going out with a gang.  Oh well, it is what is is, guess guys like going on packed boat. We went blackfishing today and picked away at the shorts again and did catch a few keepers.  High hook being 3 or 4  on down but there was good short action. We will not be sailing tomorrow with the wind forecast and it will not be nice, so see you on Sunday, Christmas Eve.  Christmas day does not look good with the wind forecast so after that it will be Tuesday,  but then it gets COLD.  Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Tuesday 11/19 Blackfish today and Stipers tommorow

We went out with a nice small group of regulars and picked away at the blackfish but mostly shorts with some keepers mixed in on every drop. "Daisy"  Mike got the pool with one of his keepers and everyone caught fish but not all keepers. Tomorrow will will switch to Striped bass for the day, as that bite is on for who knows how long, and the wind forecast may make it tough for anchoring. We will be jigging so bring your big  white shads. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Sunday 11/17 Conditions !

Sorry for the late report but we did have a decent day despite the conditions. What I mean, as other boats have reported, it was so nice on the ocean it was hard to stay on the spot. Virtually no wind and current left the anchor lines slack so we flopped around. High hook was 4 nice keeper blackfish by Jiimmy Lee, Irish Kevin had 3 and some with 2 and one, plus some short action but not the action we had last week. Doc of Doc and Grace, took the both pools, we ran a $ 5 sand $35  pool that we will do again on next Saturday. Thanks for looking and and hope to see you soon. Today, Tues, and tomorrow look good not sure about Weds yet. Here are some pics of the catch.

Friday 12/15 Gale we don't sail

We have not been out lately with below freezing temps, wind  and snow. Looks like tomorrow, Saturday will be a no go with gale (gusts to 35 ) winds expected.  Sunday,  Monday and Tuesday look good though. Hope to see you then, still fishing for black fish with green crabs supplied and white leggers available. If not have a happy and safe holiday. BTW we do have gift certificates available by mail or at the boat. Thanks for looking in.

Weds 12/13 update

We have not sailed since Friday, mostly due to the weather and also lack of participation with not enough showing up.  Again the weather does not look good the next couple of days with frigid temps and wind to go along with it.  We were thinking of maybe going Friday but it's not going to be much above freezing and tomorrow will be breezy with snow in the morning. Unless things change, Sunday and Monday look to be the better days. Sunday we will be running a bigger than normal pool(optional of course) for those that are interested. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you soon, if not have a  happy, fun and safe holiday.

Fri 12/8 A limit on down

Went out with another just enough to get out with group and did  not have the greatest anchoring conditions.  Had a decent pick with lots of action but mostly shorts with just an odd keeper mixed in, but by the end of the day one guy had his limit and on down. Tomorrow does not look good with the snow and wind forecast and not sure about Sunday either. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you on a nicer day. Here are a few pics.

Thurs 12/7 In memory of Pearl Harbor

The weather did not sound bad for today but they lied. The way out was not bad but then the winds came on to 30 + mph so it was not fun anchoring and fishing. Not rough but not nice and we did have good short action and picked some nice keepers. Some ended up with 3, 2 and 1 to go home with. Tomorrow sounds nicer and don't know what tot expect for the weekend so keep your eye on the weather. Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in.

Mon 12 /4 report

Another nice day so we decided to go out with a handful of regulars hoping things would change. Well they didn't but we did have good action with short blackfish with some guys catching over 40 but still only a handful of keepers on board. We are NOT sailing tomorrow, Tuesday or Weds and will see what Thursday looks like. Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in.

Sun 12/3 report - Tough day but mate Chrisdid it again

Mate Chris  took the day off to go fishing, go figure. He  went on another boat for the jigging world trip and took the pool. It was a big pool with lots of good competition, good for him. We  also had a tough day but apparently not that bad and  probably had more than some other boats keepers wise. Hard to anchor with wind  against the tide and the fish did not want to chew. Picked at shorts and a few keepers on most spots but not good. Back at it tomorrow as the weather looks good but NOT sailing Tuesday and Weds with the weather forecast. Thanks for looking  in and here are a few pics of  some of the fish as some folks were a little camera shy for there own reasons.

Sat 12/2 Great day on the water

We had a beautiful day for December with a flat ocean, light winds and temps that warmed up nicely. We had good short blackfish action on a couple of drops  with a couple of keepers and some were not good at all. We also saw a few sea bass and porgies that shows the water is still too warm  for good blackfishing. Roger Lee got the pool with one of his keepers towards the end of the day. Another nice day tomorrow so hope to see you on the dock. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Thurs 11/30 Dig the jig Chris

The weatherman was wrong again and we went out with easterly winds of 15 - 20mph on a cool cloudy morning. Again not rough but not nice. We went back to the area we left from yesterday and caught a couple of keepers and shorts. Moved  to another spot and started a slow pick of some shorts and keeper black fish, a few porgies, and sea bass. Mate Chris led the way using a blackfish jig and getting his blackfish limit(6) up to 6 lbs. He fished because we only had a few customers but he did not leave  them unattended. Most had one or two keepers to take home and Chris gave some of his catch to others. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pis.  The weather looks good the next few days so hope to see you.

Weds 11/29 report, not that nice

South wind yesterday and west wind today meant laying side to,  to the sea. Not rough but uncomfortable, and the fish did not want to cooperate. Worked a couple of different areas and put a small catch of keepers together but picked at shorts.  Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in. Mate Chris with 3 on the first drop ( ok crazy  pic),  some with 2 or one but not all the fish showing.
