Thurs/Fri 6/27 & 28 reports

The weather people scared most of the away on Thurs so we went out with a handful in the morning and we were  the only boat out in the afternoon with double that. Stayed in our bay with long slow drifts picking at some shorts and a few  keepers up to5 lbs. Friday we started where we were on Thurs then moved on to find some nice keepers and short action in the morning. Went back in the afternoon and had much better action and again pool fish in the 5-6 lb range. There was a nice breeze all day to keep us comfortable. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in.

Weds 6/27

Had a nice turnout for the morning trip and put together a catch despite the bad conditions.  It started off slow but then we found a couple of areas with more action and keepers including a 5 and 6 lber. Just a small group for the  in the afternoon but we did get some keepers but not much short action. Sailing every day rain or shine and here are some pics.

Mon/Tues 6 /25 & 26 CONDITIONS !

Monday morning was very windy with gusts to 30 mph so it made for a fast and rolly drift. Picked at the fish but not a lot of keepers in the areas we tried. The afternoon turned out very nice and we caught a little better on long drifts in our bay. Oh and btw Roger won both pools on Sunday and again this morning. This morning it was not good with wind against tide where we wanted to fish so we stayed local and picked shorts with only a few keepers. BUT, on the afternoon trip, things came together and we had a great afternoon with wind and tide together.  Action all afternoon with both keeper fluke and shorts and sea robins. Gary who stayed on from the morning trip took the pool with a last minute 6 lber. Thanks for looking in and again it is all in the conditions. Here are a few pics.

Sunday 6/24 A Roger Lee day

We finally had some good conditions in the morning and picked away at the fish. Franks ended up with 2 nice keepers but not big enough to beat Roger's. Then a ship came through and that was that, so we tried other areas and caught some n more. Ended up with a decent catch of keeper fluke. On the afternoon trip it started out good, picking away and then the wind changed and that was that again. But we did end up with a nice afternoon catch and great weather. Just a quick note, if you have a keeper to the surface try to keep the line tight by leading the fish in circles with out pulling it out of the water. If the line goes slack the fish has a chance to shake the hook loose and also lead the fish to the net , don't just let it take off.. Thanks for looking in land here are pics of some of the fish, the lady at the beginning got here birthday keeper.

Sat 6/23 They can't get it right

The weather people did it again with a missed forecast.  No rain or thunderstorms, and only 10 -15 mph winds form the NE and NNE that died to almost nothing.A few boats didn't make it out with the lack of turnout due to that. We made both trips with morning being slow with the keepers but we did pick shorts, sea robins and dogfish. Scout Pack 96 showed up in the afternoon after almost cancelling due the forecast and they had a blast. We even had some guys go back out. Picked like the morning but had a lot more keeper fluke fishing the calm waters of the bay. Sailing every day, 2 trips, so come on down and again if you are not sure feel free to call me. If I don't answer please leave your name and number because some areas have bad phone reception. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics and notice how calm the waters are in the background.

Friday 6/22

We sailed both trips despite the weather that was cloudy and cool and we will be sailing today. They are calling for thunder storms but I doubt we will get them with the cool easterly breezes. On the morning trip it got a little rolly  back where we have been fishing but we did pick away at shorts and some keepers. It was due to the wind against the out going tide but on the afternoon trip it was not as bad since the tide and wind were together.  Rich took the pool with a 6 1/2 lb fluke, one of his limit of keepers. Here are a few pics of some of the fish and hope to see you soon. Thanks for looking in.
