Tues 9/29 Fun group - Not sailing tomorrow, Weds

We got out this morning with a few small groups of people that were not exactly fisher people but they had a good time.  When  the boat has mostly rod rentals you know its going to be a long day. Everyone caught fish that fished and we even had a blackfish for a pool winner.  Did not plan on going out in the afternoon but nobody showed up anyway.  Here are a couple of pics and thanks for looking in. PS  If you are not sure if we are sailing or not just give me call.

Monday 9/28 Too bad Bob

We tried another area in the morning since we had a lot of young fishermen and the current would be strong where we have been fishing. Got on the fish and had a lot of action with small porgies and sea bass but did get some keepers mixed in. After it slowed up we went back to where we had been fishing and caught some more keeper porgies so everyone went home with fish. On the afternoon trip we started close waiting for the income tide start and lay the ocean down a little as it got rolly with the outgoing against the south wind that kicked up at the end of the morning trip. Picked a few keeper porgies and shorts and then went to the ocean, but it still was not that nice. Tried two different areas only to catch a a few including a giant black sea bass by Bob Caputo, that had to go back since the season is still closed to Oct 8. Here are  few  pics as we are cutting down on the number of pics.  There is also a pic of a spiny box fish(burr fish). Not sailing tomorrow, Weds,  and don't think we will make the afterno0ntrip today. Thanks for looking in and stay safe.

Sunday 9/27 Please call on weekends

We did not have that many booked this morning but had to turn people away since we are trying to abide by the limited amounts to carry. If you do not make a reservation at least come early. We had a decent start on the first spot and then it slowed down.  The current did not help but we did pick away at  the fish. High hook in the twenties and good size fish including one by Paul that may be the biggest of the fall. The afternoon was also good, especially at the start and then the pick slowed down.Pat Lamb and his family did anumber onthe fish as did Roger and Shawn. As they say those that can, did catch fish. Still have room on both trips tomorrow so come early or call. Later in the week week does not look good with rain coming and not many will show up. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics as we are cutting down since it takes me too long to load them up.

Saturday 9/26 Did it again

We had another good day catching the porgies, some people getting half to full buckets in the morning. Stayed on one drop most of the morning until the current eased off and then mad a couple of drifts.  On the afternoon trip we had to make a few drops but everyone had a decent amount to go home with.  Reservations suggested on weekends and for groups of 5 or more. We will be glad to hold spots for you but not across the stern (back), and do not hold spots there for your friends, you have to be there to get one on the back. One other note, if the weather does not look good on a weekday (rain or wind) there is a good chance we will not have enough to go out, so pick a nicer day. Of course you can always call me if you are not sure. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Friday 9/25 Not like Thurs but then...

We headed out on a very nice morning with nice weather , good fishing the last two days but just enough to get out. Went back tow where we had the good fishing and the fish were not there. Made acouple of short droops then went to another area and did find a small reading the turned into a good pick of short and keeper porgies and black sea bass (but out of season). It was just ok but not a bust. Tried a new area in the afternoon and right away had a shot of jumbo porgies with a few shorts and keepers, but then it died. Went to another new area and picked away at shorts keepers and a few jumbos. here are some pics and thanks for looking in.

Thurs 9/24 Still biting

We got out both trips today back to where we had good fishing. One drop/spot  on both trips picking away at the fish, keeper and short porgies with some sea bass (out of season) and some nice blow fish, weak fish and snapper blues.  Back at it tomorrow sailing two trips every day @ A M and 1:30 PM. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics of some of the fish. Pics are in reverse order.

9/23 finally its porgy time

We a haven't been able to go out with the weather and lack of fishermen.  We did not make it this morning but did go out this afternoon with just a few fisher people. Long ride but worth the trip as we picked away at the fish with everyone going home with dinner and more. Sailing every day and bring the kids as the ACTION is good. Still on the two trip half day schedule at 8 AM  and 1:30 PM. Reservations suggested on weekends and groups of 4 or more. Thanks for looking in and here are just a couple of pics.

Monday 9/21 Nice on land but...

The weather has been nice on land although a little cool but the ocean is still riled up with big swell from Teddy and the wind will pick up again tomorrow with gusts to 25. Therefore we will wait until Weds to go out again but Thursday on looks even better if you can wait. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you soon. Don't be afraid to call if you are not sure if we are sailing or not.

Sunday 9/20 No go again - call before you haul

I went down to the boat early this morning to see how the wind was, and it was not good. Blowing from the NE about 20 so we decided to abort the trip. Looks like today and tomorrow will not be good and we will not be sailing. Tuesday is a maybe but Weds is a definite go. Please call ahead to check any time the weather is not great, to save yourself a trip, although many times it is nice where you are but not on the water. You can also check the local marine forecast. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you soon. We are still on the 2 trip half day schedule for another couple of weeks, bottom fishing for porgies and etc, but will eventually go to a one morning trip only schedule.

Thurs 9/17

We got out on both trips and the ocean was not bad with only a swell. Picked at some short fluke and some nice big porgies. Did not connect with any keeper fluke but did have good action. We will try to sail this morning but not the afternoon trip and will see what the weather brings for tomorrow, Sat. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Weds 9/16 A mixed bag

We did not make it out on Tues with not enough showing up but it was not a bad day weather wise.  Today we did and the ocean was nice in the morning with only a gentle swell and light winds.  Picked at some short fluke and a couple of keepers both caught by Mike Walsh. We also had  a good shot of big porgies and a couple of blues, so most went home with some fish. In the afternoon the winds kicked up so the drift got fast but we again picked at some short fluke and big porgies, but no keeper fluke. Still sailing 2 trips every day for fluke until Sat and then switching to bottom fishing(porgies) on Sunday. Looks like the winds will start picking up Thurs nite and Friday so we may not be able to fish the ocean. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics from today.
