12/7 Sunday fun day - Kickin bass maybe our last

After a struggle on Saturday,  riding all over the ocean to only catch a couple,  we went a different way and glad we did. Got a call from Jack on the Prowler that birds were off the bridge and we could see them as we got there but then they sat down in the water. Looked around for readings and did catch a keeper striper. Stopped on some bait in another area and then it was game on, one to three on at times and that made our morning. Made a few more drifts on a beautiful ocean with no wind and caught on each drift. We caught our limit of keeper stripers and threw  some back along with the overs. We also had a half a limit of bonus fish (24-28"as Adam took the pool with one of his 9 fish that he caught, a 35 1/2" fish and Donata was a close second with one of her 8 she caught @ 35". Everyone went home with a fish or two if they wanted it and a smile on their face. Not sure when our next rip will be with the cold temps and winds and also not sure if they will still be around. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in. P.S. we do have gift certs available.

Sat 12/6 Whales , seals but only a couple of stripers

We ended up going much farther out than anticipated and wanted, only to catch a couple of fish. I had a bad feeling about it but we went and not doing that again. Sailing again tomorrow,  had a few calls so lets see what we can do more locally. It was nice seeing the mammal life, whales and some seals but that did not help the catch. They are not gone yet so hope to see you on the boat, but not sailing Monday. Thanks for looking in.

Thus 12/4 Cold and windy but the guys stuck it out to catch stripers

We went out with a another small group of mostly regulars on a cold windy day but put a catch together. Not t;he fishing we had the day before, but picked at the fish once the tide started to run, not fast fishing, one or two on at a time at the most. Scott started it off with an over that took the pool (2nd pic), our new rules are longest overall. I give the guys a lot of credit to hang in there on those conditions. Everyone went home with;a fish or two if they wanted it, mostly keepers a couple of bonus fish and a few overs. We took a pass on today with the frigid temps, sorry I did not post last night. Back at it tomorrow, Sat, we have people coming, and again on Sunday, then will see how it goes and play it by ear, but not sailing next Thurs 12/11. Here are some pics including one that a comedian made up after our turkey day bust. Thanks and thanks for looking in.

Weds 12/3 Better fishing (catching) close ot home, Sailing tom, Thurs

We had an even better day today limiting out on keepers 28 - 31" and on bonus fish, 24 -28 with our bonus tags, so everyone went home with a fish or two if they wanted it. Fished close to the dock, about 1/2 hr away but who knows what tomorrow will bring. We are sailing tomorrow, Thurs, but not sure about Friday yet with the cold temps coming, and people showing up. Thanks for looking in and will post the rest of the pics later, going to dentist but here is one.

Mon 12/1 Good fishing (catching) Close to home, not sailng tomorrow Tues

We had good fishing close to home today limiting out by mid morning along with a couple of shorts, some overs and keepers we had to throw back. Fish from 20" to 39", everyone went home with a fish or two if they wanted it and the weather was not bad, but tomorrow looks like a washout so our next trip we will be sailing is Weds. Who knows when they will be gone so don't wait too long. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Sat 11/29 Much better but had to take a ride, Shaping up tomorrow but...

After a tough Turkey day, glad the turkey was not, and taking a pass on Friday with the winds, we were not sure what to expect. Most boats went to where the fish were caught on Friday but apparently bombed out (we are all good fishermen). We went to where we heard there was a lot o life, and there were birds like  swarm of bees but hard to catch. Put a few in the boat, shorts and a keeper. The life died so we had to go into search mode but farther and farther away from the dock. By the end of the day we put a few more keeper stripers into the boat along with shorts and overs. Adam was high hook with 5 as we had fish to 35" (2) that tied for the pool. W will be there to go out in the morning despite the rain forecast AS LONG AS ENOUGH SHOW UP, NOT GOING WITH A HANDFUL. However we may not be able to go where we caught them today with the wind forecast. Monday looks like better day but not sailing Tuesday. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Sailing Sat 11/29 Took a pass on today

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, I'm sure it was better than the fishing. Tough day for everyone and the windy and rough conditions did not help, even though they usually like that weather. Today the forecast was for stronger winds so we did not even try. Back at it tomorrow and see what the weather brings for Sunday, if its raining not enough will show up so we will play it by ear. thanks for checking in.
