Friday 5/13

    The weather was not as nice as yesterday and the fishing was not as good but we did pick away missing more than we landed with bite offs etc.  Everyone though went home with what they wanted and there were even leftovers.  Sailing tomorrow both trips but the afternoon trip will leave at 1 pm not 1:30. Not sure about Sunday since they call for a lot of wind, so give us a call. One more week till FLUKE.

Thurs 5/12 They're back

     After a poor Tuesday and not making it out on Weds (which was also poor), we got out with another small group on Thursday. Started with bait but could not get them going good so we shot over to where some birds were working and immediately had fish on jigs and even had a couple on bait. Had an excellent first drift to give us more than we wanted to take.  Everyone caught fish, even a mother and daughter team, and went home with what they wanted but it was all blue fish. We squeaked out with a handful in the afternoon, started chumming and waited for the bite.  It didn't happen, only a couple blues here and there each time we moved. We did manage a nice keeper 20+ inch fluke that will be waiting for us next week. This morning looks ok but the afternoon has showers in the forecast so I don't not think enough will show up. Saturday (5/14) we will sail out afternoon trip form 1 PM  to 5:30 PM so get down early. Hope to see you soon, here are a few pics.

Monday/Tues Where did they go

     Had another good trip on Monday morning but had a slow start. We did not get out on the afternoon trip but did on Tues morning.  We went to where some boats were catching bass but it was all over. We did catch a blue and lost a couple so we went back to where we caught them on Monday but no good. Looked around and tried another spot and still no good. Where did they go? Apparently it was general condition so we will see what happens tomorrow. If you are planing on coming on the Saturday afternoon trip, we will be leaving at 1:00 pm rather than 1:30 and returning at 5:30 PM. Here are some pics from Monday.

And more Big Bues but Don't get it

     We had another good day fishing on the water though it started out a little wet on the way out.  Nice pick of the biggest kind of blues only a 30 minutes from the dock but we only had ten anglers while a Belmar boat riding a long way up to us was loaded with fishermen. Again the striped bass could not get to the the baits with the blues around but everyone had lots of fun and went home with fish.  Fluke season opens on the 21st but till then we will fish for the blues and bass. Saturday 5/7 BIG blues

     After a horrible week, especially Friday, we squeaked out with only a few fishermen today.  Expected a better turnout, but whatever, and had a nice morning picking at some big bluefish but no stripers in the mix. Everyone on board went home with all they wanted and everybody caught fish. We will be there in the morning but the turnout in the afternoon is usually not good because of mothers day. The rest of the week does not look bad weather wise so come down for some good fighting action. Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in.

Thurs 5/5 Here we sit

     We have not been out since Saturday with the terrible weather all week but we will try and sail the weekend and early next week looks even better. From what I can gather from a couple of charter boats that have been out, its been tough picking for the stripers but there are some blues around.  Therefore we will be fishing for both to at least get some action so don't forget to pick up some wire leader hooks. Saturday 4/30

    We  did not make it out on Friday but did make both trips Saturday only to find the fishing not as good as Weds and Thurs. The afternoon was better than the morning but not good producing only a few misses, bite offs and only boating a couple of Blues. If you come down in the next couple of weeks make sure to pick up wire leader hooks for the bluefish so you can have fun fighting them and boating them. Sorry to say we lost the pictures from Thursday;s trip but here are a couple from Saturday. This morning ,(Sunday) looks ok but not the afternoon with the  rain moving in. We are not carrying a lot of people these days so try and pick the better days to come down. Hope to see you soon and thanks for looking in.
