Fri/Sat rports

The t-storm forecast on Friday kept most of the people away but we did make the morning trip. Light rain at  times and that was all but the fishing was not good. Windy on Saturday morning that eventually let up.We picked shorts and a few  keepers on the first few drifts the went to other areas and found a little better fishing. At the end of our last drift our local whale showed up coming pretty close to the boat. Wish my friend Gup was there to see it. The afternoon trip had more action  and more keepers with the better drift. Here are some pics (whale pics at end) and thanks for looking in.

Thurs 7/5 Make up !

We had poor drifting conditions in the morning when we went out so we headed to a new area. Picked mostly shorts and dog fish and did land a keeper. Went back where we had some fish the day before and as the conditions got better we caught some more ,  not enough, but Art got his pool fish. On the afternoon trip things came together and we picked on long drifts with some anglers getting 2 keepers on the first and limiting out by the second. We had a few limits when all was said and done with Ray ( Mr July) getting his limit and the pool with a 6.5 lb beauty. Sailing tomorrow despite the forecast, so come on down. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in.

Juy Forth bang! Unload then park

We started  in the morning with a good turnout and went out a the beginning of the incoming tide wind no wind. We encountered the whale with the line or net(by the way he was acting) on his tale and got a good view of him. Picked only a couple of shorts and lost a nice keeper at the net. One must lead the fish to the net and not pull it out when it is netted. A gentle lift helps as the fish is being netted then drop the rod down. Went to another area but had a very slow drift but with the help of an engine moved along and picked slow but steady at keepers and shorts that resulted in a decent catch of keepers. On the next drift we had better action with shorts and a 6 lb pool winning fish. We had a nice breeze in the afternoon and picked  on long drifts with John Frank taking his limit and the pool out of the four keepers he caught. A reminder to pull up to the boat to unload and then park because parking is limited with the fair taking up a couple of lots. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics of SOME of the fish

7/2 -7/3 reports - Muggy mornings but cooler afternoons

We still have the heat on the last two days especially in the mornings with very little breeze but it did get better in the afternoon. We are still working hard to put some fish in the boat but it has been mostly shorts and at times good action but not as many keeper fluke as we like. If one hangs in there and pays attention to whats working, one can end up with a keeper or a limit.Like I said the afternoons have been pleasant with the breeze but very people are showing up to enjoy it. Little nick stayed at the rail this afternoon and caught ten fish but not keepers, while his mom did get one for dinner. Sean got his two keepers and the pool again in two days. Her are some pics and thanks for looking in. Sailing every day including holidays and rainy days.

Sat /Sun 6/30 & 7/1 HOT ?

Saturday  we had bad conditions until the tide changed and then we picked away in the morning. Not a lot of keepers but decent action with the shorts. On the afternoon trip we had one long first drift that we picked on with mate Chris getting his limit and other shorts and keepers.  We only had a handful of fishermen, guess the weatherman scared everyone with heat warnings while  it was nice with the breeze. Today it was not good with no drift wherever we went and had few fish on both trips. Wind against  the little bit of current but we did see the whale that is having problems in the bay. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in. A reminder, the fireman 's fair is starting this week and parking will not be good. Give yourself extra time and make it easy by unloading by the boat and then go park.
