Satyrdat 7/30 report

We started out with a nice morning only to end with a rainy afternoon. Picked all morning at shorts, sea robins and some dogfish(sharks). Keeper fluke mixed in all around the boat and a couple of cow nose rays were in the mix. The first hour of the afternoon was rain free but then it came steady but not heavy to put a damper on the fishing as most were not prepared for it. Fished a different area then the morning so we didn't have as many sea robins or sharks so the action was a little less. Ended with about half the keepers of the morning but we also had half the people on board. Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in.

Thurs/Fri reports

We made it out both trips on Thurs with a very light crowd in the afternoon with the weather forecast. There are still a lot of shorts, sea robins, and dogfish around in some areas so there is plenty of action. We do get keeper fluke mixed in so one has to be diligent and stay at the  rail. We did get a nice shot of keepers Thurs afternoon but we did not make the morning trip on Friday with the pouring rain in the morning. Not enough showed for any half day boat and only one 3/4 day boat got out. With only 2 boats trying in the afternoon we got a decent gang. Picked at the fish with a few nice ones mixed in. Here are some pics and no the last one is not me, hope to see you soon.

Weds 7/27 Ok it was hot this morning

Wouldn't  you know it, right after posting that it's not that hot on the water, this morning was the hottest one yet with no wind. Not that bad in the shade but the sunny side was toasty. We waited for a drift and when we got one we picked away at shorts and some keeper fluke along with sea robins and dogfish. Some went home with one or two and some didn't. Ont the afternoon trip it was much nicer with a nice breeze and decent conditions in first half of the afternoon, but even after that we still picked away. High hook of 4 keepers and next one 3 keeper fluke. Sailing every day @ 8 A M  and 1:30 P M hope to see you soon. Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in.

Monday/Tuesday reports - Its not that hot on the water

It seems like the weather people are telling people to stay indoors but the temps on the water have not been that bad since there is usually a breeze. We have been catching quite a few short fluke lately and we have to weed through them to get a keeper. Along with sea robins and dogfish there has been non stop action at times. Other than Monday morning's trip we have been putting a catch together with some anglers going home with 2 or 3 keepers. Monday afternoon this young lady showed dad up catching a keeper fluke and sea bass. Tuesday afternoon Alex Rosenberg caught his first fluke and won the pool with one 6 lbs.  Here are a few pics form the last two days and thanks for looking in.

Sun 7/24 Working hard for fish

the fish are not just concentrated on the channels so we have to try different areas and hope to get lucky.  First couple of area we tried did not produce much but we did have one decent drift that was not repeatable. We did find some at the end of  the day so we started there on the afternoon trip but conditions did not make it easy. Got one good drift in with a lot of work to keep the lines straight. Moved on only to find mostly shorts but decent action and a couple of keepers. Here are a few pics including what a boat should not look like on a Sunday in July but watch the weather for tomorrow afternoon as it does not look good. Give us a call if you plan to come down.

Fri / Sat Reports 7/22 -23

Friday morning we had tough go of it boating only a few keepers but it did get better in the afternoon. Not as good as we would like but ok. Some with two or three  keeper fluke and most with only shorts. Today it started out slow but we did get a couple of good drifts in with Pete Battista getting 4 keepers for the morning and Dave of the jersey boys with the pool winner of 7 1/2 lbs. A nice day on the water with a constant breeze all day. On the afternoon trip we had good drifting conditions for the flats but too fast for the channel but we picked away at shorts and a fair amount of keepers. Pete stayed on to get his limit plus one to add to his son Vinny's catch of three for the day. Here are some pics for today and yesterday(first four) so come on down.

Thurs 7/21 Action and quality

We started the morning where we had adrift and picked shorts and some nice keeper fluke.  On only two drifts little Tony form Arizona boated 3 keeper fluke up to 5 1/2 lbs. When the drift slowed up we went to another area and had a good pick of fish, mostly shorts but a lot of action but keepers also mixed in. Pool fish by Danny Wong of 6 lbs 12 oz, beat Ed Christensen's 6 lb 9 oz fish. On the afternoon trip we had a nice breeze to keep us cool and gave us a good drift. Not as much action as the morning but still good, with pool fish weighing in at 6 1/2 lbs. Hope to see you soon and wear light clothing with the hot weather coming up. Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in. One other note, if you arrive late ti would be best to unload in front of the boat and then park because you may not find parking close to the boat.
