With the tough fishing in the more local waters we decided to take a ride today with our longer hours, and it worked out. Pretty good action with the short fluke and enough keeper fluke to make it interesting, along with the black sea bass that have to go back and even a keeper blackfish that had to go back. Steve took the pool with one of his two keepers and George also took two fluke home. A few other singles around the boat and NO dogfish ! I have had this theory that the lack of fluke in the bay is from the over whelming amount of dog fish sharks, that we never caught in the bay years back. The cormorants are no help either eating all the bait the fluke feed on. Hopefully with the warmer temps the fish will move up into the bay and more local waters. The downfall of where we were fishing is that it is a long ride and the bottom is sticky causing the loss of rigs, the price you have to pay. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.
