Thurs 9/11 Never foreget & fluke report

First let us never forget what happened 24 yrs ago and our condolences and sympathies for those who lost loves ones.  We headed out to where we have been catching and had to deal with a big heave, swell whatever you want to call it although it was not really rough, nothing like Tues. The drift was not good but we did catch some shorts and a decent amount of sea bass that are out of season. We did pick a few keeper fluke, seemed better as  the  day went on, but not enough. Hopefully as the seas lay down the fishing, catching, will pick up tomorrow. Another one 6 hr trip tomorrow and half day schedule on the weekend, @ 8 AM and again @ 1:30 PM. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Weds 9/10 not going this afternoon

We shaped up for the morning trip and we were the only ones, and only 2 showed up for the whole dock. With that being said we are not going to try for the afternoon. See you tomorrow, and thanks for looking in.

Tues 9/9 They were right for once, not pretty

We sailed with a small group of 13 and headed out to where we caught them yesterday and ended up beating our way there. The  wind did come on like predicted, 20 -25 from the ENE and it got ugly, rolling around and a fast drift but we did put a few in the boat with Bob catching his 2 keeper fluke and there were a couple of others caught along with some shorts and sea bass. After a few drifts we retreated to calmer waters only to catch a few more short fluke and couple of dog fish. We will try to go out in the morning, on our half day trip, but not with a handful, like to have a dozen to sail but don't expect to catch much as we will be restricted to where we can fish. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Mon 9/8 good fishing - Sailing tom, Tues, but...

We did not get out on Sunday with not enough showing up to go out on both trips, guess the rain scared them off. We did go out today expecting more wind that was predicted, but it turned out very nice, and the fish were hungry. Started off a little slow but we bounced around and found a few that were hungry. By the end of the trip we had 4 limits including 2 that had their limit plus, but only kept their 3. and shared with others. A few other keeper fluke around the boat along with short action and sea bass in the mix, that we can't keep now. Not sure what the weather will be tomorrow with the wind forecast, they were wrong today, but we will be there to go in the AM, 8 - 2pm. Hope we can get out to where we caught them today. Our half day trips are down to Wednesdays and weekends, (Sat & Sun) until the end of fluke season, 9/25. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Sat 9/6 Put it together & call if u are ot shure if we are sailing

We only ran the AM trip today, sorry if you came down with out calling, please do if the weather is iffy, would like to save you a trip, not that the weather was that bad but the forecast was and would not have enough to go out. Being on a half day schedule we stayed local and put some keeper fluke in the boat along with a couple of weakfish and short fluke and weakfish to boot. Looks like we did ok, not  that the other guys don't try hard, but they tried the ocean and it did not  pan out. Sailing the two trips tomorrow, 8 AM an again at 1:30PM. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Fri 9/5 Not sailing Sat PM trip 9/6

We headed  to where we caught some yesterday but thought  it would be rough, but it was not. Picked at some shorts and did land a few keeper fluke. Ended up putting a small catch together, couple of guys with two and one with a surprisingly low turnout for the dock. At the day went on it did get a little rolly but not rough. Tomorrow we will have to stay more local and see what we can do with it.Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Weds/Thurs 9/3 & 4 reports

We had a tough morning on Weds as did a lot of boats as we tried everywhere inshore and off shore. On the afternoon trip we tried other areas more local and ended up in  a little better shape with some keeper fluke and better short action. Today we tired where we caught them a few days ago but no good so we took the run and had a good first drift, but then not much after that as the south wind picked up and the current ran against it making it hard to hold bottom. Roger took the pool with a 4.83 lb fish that now leads the monthly pool, just beating out Andy who had 2 including a a 4.77( the 9.2 lb fish was not in it). Rick took the August pool as that   6.2 lb fish were not in it. A few other nice fish were caught but not a lot of short action. Don't forget we are running our 6 ;hr trip tomorrow, Friday, not the two half day trips, from 8 AM to 2 PM. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.
