Sunday/Mon reports

     Another nice group on Sunday morning and we picked at the fish on a few drifts. Anchored up and  picked some more but not as good as it has been. It was a  mixture of porgies,blow fish and small sea bass. In the afternoon we picked  and made a few moves  and everyone went home with fish. Today we had to stay in the bay but did catch some nice sized porgies in the morning but not enough showed up in the afternoon. Still sailing two trips every day but Thursday is not looking good so do not come down. Thanks for looking in. Here are some pics. Saturday 9/28 the wind

    We had more wind than we expected in the morning but it actually helped the drifting conditions slowing the drift down. We started out drifting and picking mostly short sea bass and porgies and a few blow fish, with a few keepers mixed in. We then anchored up but the current was fast so the stern caught most of the fish but there were tangles. Then back to the drift and picked some more ending up  just ok for the group we had, of course some did ok and some with only a couple or none to take home but everyone did catch fish. In the afternoon we knew the conditions would not be nice in the ocean  so we tried another area and did catch some fish. Tried going back to the morning area but it was not nice and we only caught a few so back to the bay for a few more. Besides we had kids and guy that was 92 years old and that was not for them. Friday 9 / 27 Another nice one

     We had another nice day on the water with good fishing in the morning that started off a little slow then picked up until the current got too fast. We are on the new moon so the tides are extra high and therefore stronger current so be prepared to fish with heavier weights, 8-10 oz. We had  fish all around the boat  with short porgies, nice ones, sea bass and blowfish. In the afternoon it was not as good but did get a catch together with a high hook of about  up to about dozen - 15 some with only a couple or none. The breeze did pick up in the afternoon so bring a light jacket or sweatshirt this time of year. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics but forgot the camera in the morning, only got a pic of a cooler and the rack buckets but many went home whole.

Thurs 9/26 Ted's day

    Another nice day on the water weather wise and we had a nice day fishing. The sea bass kept us busy and then some porgies took over but not for all. Ted started bang away at them with some double headers while people next to him looked on but then they also started to catch them. Was it the spot or was it just him but he did not get the pool, his buddy did. A couple did not catch porgies but all caught fish, but that's fishing. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

A beautiful Weds 9/25 on the water

     What a nice day with calm seas and alight breeze. A little cool then it warmed up nice. Unfortunately not too many showed up to enjoy it and we went out with a very small group. Only had to make two drops and ending up with everyone going home with fish and smiles on their faces. On the afternoon trip we started out drifting only catching a few. Anchored up and picked slowly until we got a report of bigger fish on  the drift that didn't pan out. Anchored up again a then put a little catch together. Sailing every day, two trips still @ 8AM  and again @ 1:30 PM. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Tues 9/24 decent fishing

    We only had to make one drop this morning and picked away at he the fish, mostly porgies of mixed size and sea bass.  Everyone caught and took home fish. High hook had a half a bucket and some with only a few, that's fishing. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Sun/Mon not as good

    The morning trip on Sunday was not like Sat but we picked at the fish with everyone catching and most went home with some. Is been a mixture of lots of small sea bass with some would have been keepers,nice sized porgies and shorts, and blow fish.  In the afternoon the winds kicked up and it got a little rolly so we could not drift. Only caught a few porgies and lots of small sea bass but it was not good. This morning it was better, not a good bite but all went home with dinner and the action was not bad. The winds kicked up again this afternoon but not as bad and the fishing was better then yesterday afternoon. Here are some pics and still sailing 2 trips every day@ 8 AM and again @ 1:30 PM.
