Sat 9 30 Still good fishing (catching)

Fishing was good both trips on Friday and again this morning. Weather did not look good for the afternoon today so with only a few showing up we decided to punt. Glad we did as  the wind kicked up but will be back on the field tomorrow. Hope to see you soon and thanks for looking in. No pics as they are pretty much the same, buckets full and a cleaning table full of fish.

Weds 9/7 Good enough for me

We made both trips on Weds with only a few in the morning,as you can see by the pics but a little better turnout in the the afternoon. I have not been down fishing myself but when I saw the size of the fish were catching, I decided to jump in. Very nice size porgies with only a few shorts and some would be nice keeper sea bass. On the afternoon trip another boat beat us to the same spot so we tried a few others and found another batch of jumbo(for this area) porgies and very nice sea bass on one of the other spots. We did not try to sail this morning(none of our boats did) and will not sail this afternoon with the wind forecast. We will be back at  it tomorrow morning sailing two trips every day @ 8AM and again @ 1:30 PM. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in.

Tues 9/26 afternoon.

We did not have enough to go in the morning but we squeaked out ,really not enough, but went anyway with the nice weather and good fishing. It was good fishing again and the weather today looks good also. Tomorrow, Thursday, is not looking good with the wind forecast so we may not be going. Pick a nicer day like we have had all week. Friday and the weekend look good and btw we have not been crowed on the weekends. Hope to see you soon and thanks for looking in.

Monday 9/25 Great fishing & BAD weather reporting

We made it out on both trips with only a few fisher people. Nice day, VERY nice ocean and good fishing so where is everyone. The weather people are stressing everyone out about the big seas witch by the way are only long period swells. That means it is only rough on the beach and at the inlets where they build up and we are not fishing there. No wind = not rough on a boat. The boat only goes up and down like a slow moving elevator, barely noticeable.  If you are not sure feel free to call me about the weather. Today was another nice day but not enough showed up to go out. Here are some pics so take note of the water and great porgy reading on the fish finder, and Laura with only part of her catch. Lots of double header porgies with sea bass(closed season) and some blackfish mixed in. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you soon. Thursday is the only day they predict wind so watch that one.

Fri /Sat 9/22-23 The Bite is still on

Despite the swells form Hose' and Maria the porgies are still chewing. We only made it out on the morning trip on Friday and the seas were uncomfortable with 20 - 25 mph N winds and a SE swell but was not rough. Saturday was much nicer and today will be nicer yet. Take advantage of the weather and great fishing with buckets full going to the cleaning table. There is some current to deal with so bring some heavier weights like 8 or more ounces. Sailing two trips every day, 7 days a week @ 8 AM and 1:30 PM. If the weather looks a little iffy like showers in the forecast, especially during the week, then pick a nicer day as not enough show up this time of year. Hope to see you soon and thanks for looking in. Here are some pics and the bucket shown was full by the end of the trip.

Thurs 9/21 Yes we are sailing

We did get out on Monday for the morning trip with continuous good fishing and a nice whale show.  A little rolly but not bad and we did try to go out today but not enough of you showed up.  We will be on the dock tomorrow ready to go. Sailing 2 trips every day @ 8 AM and again @ 1:30 PM. Hope to see you soon and thanks for looking in.

Sat/Sun 2 more great ones

We got out all the trips on the weekend with banner fishing. Everyone catches fish to go home with up to the limit of 50. This afternoon we found some bigger fish with fewer shorts and we will start mixing it up with some blackfish next week. We are hoping the off shore hurricane Jose'  will not chase the fish away. We are only having swells and it is NOT rough on the water. We will try to go out tomorrow morning but not sure about the afternoon. Tues and Weds are out, do not come down. Here are a few pics and not of the garbage can full of racks that we have been getting every trip. Thanks for looking in and feel free to all me as I do not answer the face book questions or comments.

Fri 9/15 One pic says it all

Another banner day with the porgies with guys getting tired of reeling them in and re baiting, with some getting their limits in a couple of hours. The weekend looks good weather wise but not after that. Not sure about Monday morning but Tues and Weds are a definite no go. Thanks for looking in and call me if you need to.

Weds/Thurs reports - it continues

Great fishing both trips on Weds and only made it out with a handful on Thurs morning with no boats sailing the in the afternoon, not enough fishermen showing up.  The next few days through Sunday look good then some weather will be coming in, rain and wind. The porgy fishing could not be better so come take advantage of it. Sailing 2 trips every day weather and people permitting(enough showing up).  Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in.

Mon/Tues again & again

The fishing (catching) remains very good with one drop/stop fishing and the weather has been great as shown by Ed relaxing before the trip. During the fluke season some were going  to sit because of boredom, now its because they need to take a break or caught enough. Drop and reel up fishing with limits on a half day, no need to go longer.. The mates are constantly working opening clams, cutting them up and then cleaning the fish all day long and even when we hit the dock. they are working very hard now so please don't forget them and show your appreciation by taking care of them. We even had a dolphin show on the way in on Tues morning and a whale showed up behind the boat on the afternoon trip. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in. We are still sailing on the 2 trip half day schedule at 8 AM and again @  1:30 PM so pick the nicer days and come on down.

Sun 9/10 Did it again

Another great day catching  porgies on Sunday although the weather people did not predict the wind to be 25+ out of the north. Guess they are too busy with the hurricane and only said 10 to 15 mph. It made it very uncomfortable since we laid side to the sea but everyone caught a bunch of fish. The afternoon was much nicer and warmer and also good fishing. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in. By the way, we are not crowded now even on weekends so come on down with friends and family so we can round up enough to go out.

Sat 9/9 The beatings continue

We had another great day porgy fishing on both trips, with nice cool weather. With limits (50) on down several hundred fish are coming aboard. We are also seeing some black sea bass in the mix but the season is closed. Even the kids are having a great time so come on down and get them out of the house and hooked on fishing  not drugs or i pads /phones.  Sorry there are no pics as the camera is hiding somewhere. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you soon. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you soon.

Friday 9/8 Porgy slam

None of the bats got out on Weds and only a few few fishermen showed up on Thurs but not for us, despite the nice weather. We got out with only enough to go on Friday and one drop (spot) was all it took with drop to  the bottom  and reel up fish action. Half a day is enough to get you 50 fish limit if you know what you are doing and everyone catches fish to take home. It was non stop for the mate also between opening clams, cutting them up, taking fish off and then cleaning them. Sailing every day(7 days) ,two trips, @ 8 AM and again @ 1:30 PM. Hope to see you soon and thanks for looking in. I will post pics later.

Tuess 9/5 Fluke finale'

We almost went out with a bang with a fantastic morning boating over 20 keeper fluke with short action and nice weather. There were 3 limits and everyone caught fish. On the afternoon trip we were looking for a repeat but it didn't happen as we hit a tide change and wind that came up against it. Picked at shorts and a few keepers but that was it. We will now be bottom fishing for porgies  on the same half day schedule leaving at 8 AM and again @ 1:30 PM. None of the boats went out this morning due to a poor turnout so we will not be sailing this afternoon. Hope to see you on a nicer day and thanks for looking in. Here are some pics of some of the fish from Tuesday.
