Thurs 2/29 Went back to the spot but...

      We went right back to the area we had the good catch of jumbo porgies but only caught a few and then moved onto other areas. There was a lot of action but almost everything went back, small sea bass and  porgies, Went back to where we started and only caught a few more. No one showed up for the afternoon, so much for all the calls I got asking when are we going for porgies. We will try try to go out tomorrow but the weekend and Monday look like a blow out with wind and rain. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics of a few of the fish. 

Weds 9/28 Jumbo PORGY Time !

    I have been getting a lot of calls the last few weeks as to when we will be going for porgies, well NOW we are but not many showed up to go out but we did, but not this afternoon. As one captain once said, be the report don't just read about it. :Had good catching (fishing) with big porgies with small ones mixed in. John got the pool with one of the bunch he caught. Every one caught fish and went home with fish. Still one the same half day schedule for now sailing @ 8 AM and again @ 1:30 PM Thanks for looking in and here are some pics. 

Tues 9/27 Last day of fluke and now Porgy time

      We had a nice finish to the season in the morning with Pat getting his limit but not the pool that went  4 lb . On the afternoon trip the drift was too fast but when it slowed up we stared catching some fish. Mostly shorts and sea robins but we did end up with a couple of nice keepers with the pool fish going almost 5 lbs. Fluke season is now over so we will be bottom fishing for Porgies and Black fish, sea bass opens on 10/7. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Monday 9/26 Tomorrow is the last fluke day

     We went out with a fair crowd in the morning and fished one side. Picked away at the fish mostly shorts but some keeper fluke, sea robins, small blues, etc including a trigger fish by a guy who hadn't caught one in 50 years.  The afternoon was little slower with the wind going against the tide so we didn't cover the ground.  Still got some keeper fluke ans shorts but the end is near as tomorrow is the last day to keep fluke. Switching to bottom fishing (porgies) on Wednesday on the same schedule for NOW. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Sunday 9/25 A little nicer

    A little warmer and less wind so we went out with more than I expected with the forecast.  Picked at the fish, shorts, Keeper fluke and other fish. Again some got  two and one and some just short fluke and other fish. One the afternoon trip, we had just enough to go but had a nice afternoon with keeper fluke and shorts but not a lot of action. Back at it tomorrow with only two days left int he fluke season. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics. Bottom fishing starting Weds, 9/28.

Sat 9/24 Was cold but the fluke are still there

       The weather people scared off the people, no big swells just a wind chop, but only problem was the tide and wind were together so the drift got fast quick in the morning. Shawn got his two and a few with one keeper fluke along with other fish for some action in the morning. On the afternoon trip we got the last of the tide with the wind and then the drift got slow but we did get more keeper fluke than the morning with Sue getting two including the pool fish. Shawn came back out to get another to top off his limit for the day. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in, last day for fluke is Tues 9/27.

Thurs / Fri 9/22 & 23 /didn't get out and not going out on Fri.

     We were there to go this morning but not enough showed up so we did not bother with the afternoon with the weather forecast. Tomorrow, Friday,  will be too windy from the cold front coming in, not the hurricane that is way out in the ocean. We will get swells from it but it only affects the surf and shallow bars and inlets but we will not be fishing any of those. Sailing again Saturday on, every day for Fluke through 9/27 than switching to bottom fishing, porgies etc although black sea bass is still closed until Oct 7. Thanks for looking in.

Weds 9/21 3 Limits in AM and one in PM, they didn't leave yet

     The fish are starting to move out and eat. Had a nice morning with three guys getting their limit  and a few other keeper fluke around the boat. The afternoon started off good but the wind picked up making the drift too fast, but still we caught some keeper fluke and shorts including a limit and some with 2 and one. Will be there to go in the morning but the afternoon is not looking good, and Friday we will see with the winds picking up, call me first.Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.
