Thursday 9/30 Afternoon turnon

We decided to go out with a very small group this morning and got lucky picking away on the couple of drops we made. Everyone went home with a few dinners  plus of porgies and a Trigger fish to take the pool.  Another light turnout in the afternoon but we know everyone so we went. Tried a different area and had a good pick the whole afternoon with lots of action including the pool winner, another trigger fish. Bucket fulls around  and even I filled a bucket with porgies. Hope we can do it again tomorrow if my area doesn't get invaded. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Tues/Weds 9/27 & 28

We ended up getting enough to go out on Tues and tried a couple of different areas.  Got some to take home with some extras with plenty of short action, but was not good. Today, in the morning,  we went to where we have been fishing but only a slow pick. On the afternoon we tried a few different areas and it was a little better, but not  good porgy fishing. Everyone went hone with dinner plus but not like last week. Sailing 2 trips , every day, so come have some fun with the cooler weather. And btw we had a few cancer fighters and survivors on the boat today, kudos to them.  Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Monday 9/27 Good ending and sailing tomorrow AM

The morning trip turned out a little rolly and we only picked at the fish that never turned on but everyone went home with a few. In the afternoon it started the same but then at the end they started chewing. Double headers and everyone going home with a few meals. We will try to go out tomorrow morning if enough show up but not sure about the afternoon if enough show up. Hope to see you then and thanks for looking in. Here are just a few pics.

Sunday 9/26

We went to where we caught them on Sat and had a shot when we anchored up, but the lines went to the front with a strong wind against the tide. Once the fishing slowed up we made a couple of moves but only to get a few more. On the afternoon trip same thing happened but on the last drop they turned on as we picked away with double headers. Sailing two trips every day @ 8 AM and 1:30 PM but not on rain forecast days like tomorrow, Tuesday, as not enough will show up. Thanks for looking in and here are just a couple of pics.

Saturday 9/25

We only had ok fishing in the morning with every one going home with fish and some did better. The afternoon proved to be much better as we had a good constant pick  of fish with lots of double headers. It was nice to see everyone catching and having fun, even the first timers. Sailing two trips every day, seven days a week, so come on down. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Friday 9/24 Nice day /good fishing

We did not try to go out in the morning and neither did any other boats. Got enough to go in the afternoon witch was beautiful and picked away on a one drop stop. Everyone went home with fish with teacher Bob taking the high hook honors. His pic is with some of his fish with more being caught after that. Sailing every day, weather permitting, so come catch some fun. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Monday 9/20 Porgies & Triggers

I have been getting quite a few calls asking when we will switch to porgies, well we did but not to many showed up.  It was not the fishing we had last year but most went home with a  few dinners. We also got a few nice trigger fish in the afternoon along with porgies and TOO many black sea bass from   3 " to nice keepers, so there was plenty of action. Did not get any pics but thanks for looking in.

Sunday 9/21 Last day for Fluke

It was a little breezy and cool in the morning as we picked at the fish but not as fast as we would like. Short fluke, sea robins and a few keeper fluke. The afternoon was the same but the weather turned out much nicer. Kelly boated the first keeper but before we left the dock(did not count in the pool btw), and we boated a few more after that with Mike almost getting a limit as the third one escaped the net. We will now be Bottom fishing for Porgies and Blackfish( no crabs provided) on the same half day schedule for now. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Sat 9/20 Capt Bob O did it

We had a slow pick on both trips, maybe because of the big roll but it was not rough. Mostly short fluke and sea robins with a few keeper fluke a black sea bass mixed in. Capt Bob O took the pool in the morning and came out in the afternoon to catch two more keeper fluke but Artie beat him out in the last minute for the pool. Sunday is the last day to keep fluke and we will be bottom fishing Monday. Thanks for looking in and here are some  pics.

Thurs/ Fri 9 16 & 17

On Thurs we had decent action with fish, short fluke, and sea robins  along with keeper fluke. Ben and Jim from the Star each got a keeper fluke but our Bob took the pool with one of his two in the morning. The afternoon trip was a little slower with a couple of less keeper fluke but still ok. We were the only boat to go out on Friday morning with the forecast so went to the same area but only caught short fluke and sea robins. Went to our other area but it was too rough so back to calmer waters for a few more shorts. Still sailing two trips, every day but this time of year not enough show up on rainy week days. Fluke ends on Sunday and we will switch to bottom fishing, porgies, on Monday. Thanks for looking in  and here are some pics.

Weds 9/15

We got put on both trips with a light crowd. On the morning trip we picked at the fish with a couple of keeper fluke coming aboard in one area then lost the drift so we moved to another and caught some more. On the afternoon trip we had a great first drift and then it  slowed up. Ended with a bunch of keeper fluke and ended the day with a great whale show, in fact two of them. This time of year if the weather looks off like showers coming you may want to call ahead, not that we can't go out but not enough may show up, so pick a nicer day.  Here are some pic and thanks for looking in.
