Another nice day on the water and we went to where we caught a few yesterday and caught some more. Picked at some shorts and keepers before moving on to other areas. Not everyone caught fish but there were a few around the boat with a high hook of 3 by Doug. Had a few calls for tomorrow so we should be going out. It was a nice day on the water except for the anchoring conditions and a roll from the south that we laid side to. Did not want to move from a drop as long as we had some fish coming aboard picking at shorts and a few keepers. We did make a few drops and picked on all of them but would have liked to see more keepers although some had two and some one. Better than yesterday and hopefully it will be better tomorrow. Sailing every day weather and people permitting, including New Years day @ 7:30 AM. Thanks for looking in and here are just a few pics of some of the fish.
Went to where we caught them last time and only a few bites. Made a few other drops and picked some shorts but only a couple of keeper blackfish. In other words it sucked today even with a nice ocean. Back at it tomorrow and hope it changes. Thanks for looking in.
We decided to hold off sailing until Weds 12/28 as the weather will be warmer and I think there will be a better turnout and better chance of going out. Green crabs for bait and a large heated cabin. Thanks for looking in and hope everyone had a nice holiday.
It was a n absolutely gorgeous day on the ocean ( look at the last pic) and only had to make 3 drops that had fish on all of them. Good action with shorts as our small group boated over a hundred, everyone caught fish, with keepers around the boat. Roger had 3, few guys with 2 and one, with a 6 lb pool fish, which is nice to see rather than just a couple of guys getting all the keepers. With the upcoming weather we will not be sailing until Tues, 12/27 and will go from there, Weds and Thurs also look good. The crew and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and happy holiday. Feel free to call if the weather is questionable as warm days are not always nice on the ocean. After a tough day on Saturday where we covered 50 miles for nothing and not enough to go out with today, we will be switching to Blackfish on the same schedule of 7:30 AM to 3 PM. After a great fall we ended like some of the foot ball games today. Green crabs provided and sailing daily, weather permitting, so call ahead as we will start on Tues, 12/20, not sailing tomorrow, Monday. The weather and an upcoming coast guard inspection kept us in for few days but we will be ready to go tomorrow, Sat 11/17 and sticking with the striped bass fishing in the bay as the ocean will be riled up and do not think anything will be happening. Our last trip was very good so we will see what happens. Thanks for looking in and if we do not see you have a happy, healthy and safe holiday as we are still trying to sail every day as long a s the weather cooperates and and enough show up to go. BTW we do have gift certificates for the hard to buy for.
Had a good morning and beautiful day as the weather people screwed up again as we limited out with keeper stripers by 10 AM and a half a limit of slot fish. Then the bite died and we did some looking around for a while waiting for the fish to start biting again. They never came up again but at the end of the trip we found a grand finale filling up the slot limit and throwing fish back. Great way to end the day. Not sailing tomorrow as I 'm sure not enough will show up with the rain forecast but we will go again on Monday if enough show up , at least 8. Not sailing Tues or Weds. Went to a another area this morning, but it was not nice and only boated a couple of slot fish. Went back to where we had some fish yesterday but found them in another area where we limited out on slots and almost a limit of keeper stripers, with Scott boating over 20 fish, slots, keepers ans shorts, and Ben took the pool with one of his 3 keepers, @ 32". We will give it a try tomorrow, Saturday but not Sunday sailing at 7:30 AM. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.
After a tough day on Monday and not sailing Tues or Weds, we didn't know what to expect, but we went out with a small group as we were the only boat sailing and looked around for a couple of hours before finding some life, then it was game ON! After about an hour we had our boat limit of keepers and slot striped bass as we proceeded to throw back the rest, everyone caught and went home with fish. Tom took high honors boating 16 fish, while Bill took the pool with a 32 incher but threw back one at 33" after we limited and closed the pool. Sailing tomorrow, Friday @ 7:30 AM and will see about Sat. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics. Some look like doubles but it was after we limited.
Only a handful of regulars showed up but we went anyway and did a LOT of riding and looking around to find only a little life that was hard to get on. Ended up with not much to show for our effort but not giving up yet. I think the upcoming full moon has to play so we will give it a shot on Thurs and see what happens, before switching to Blackfish which I hear has been that good anyway. Thanks for looking in.
It was a little bit of a struggle today but John Leone got his limit and the pool with a few other keepers ans slots on the boat along with a few shorts. NOT sailing tomorrow with the rain and wind forecast as I do not think enough will show up and we may not be able to fish where we caught them today.
