The fishing and the temps are not like last year at this time. We did have a few good trips and days that it was very nice out, but the past week has been cold and the fishing not what it should be. We are putting a few fish in the boast but we don't have the short action we should. Hopefully with the warm weather the next few days thing will change. Thanks for looking n and here are some pics.
It was quite cool on the water as sometimes it is so always bring extra clothing but please don't forget them on the boat when you leave, if it gets warm. Not a big turnout but we got some keeper fluke and shorts with not a lot of action, but we did try looking around in the morning ans even got a compliment about it. 94 year old Dick and his buddy got their two keeper fluke, some one and none. The afternoon was even slower but we did boat some fish. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.
We only did the morning trip with the winds picking up. Please call ahead if you are unsure about us going out on a trip. Picked at keeper and short fluke, but not fast and also got a shot of small blue fish in the mix. Could not fish the areas we wanted with the wind direction but got some fish into the boat. It was not like Friday as the area we caught the fish got cleaned up. We did manage to put a catch together but mostly shorts and some keepers on all the trips since then. Very nice fishing on the calm waters of Sandy Hook bay. Some guys with 2 keeper fluke and some with one or just shorts, but Kelly got this limit this afternoon as we found a another area of fish. Sailing 2 trips, every day including holidays @ 8 AM and again @ 1:30 PM.
The morning did not turn out as good as we like but looked and worked around to put a catch together. Mostly shorts, but some keepers mixed in, some with two and one. But on t;he afternoon trip it was all hands on deck, as we had a good shot of keepers and shorts with 3 limits or plus, 4 or 5 with 2 in the hunt and several with one and of course shorts.
