We went out this morning with only a few and the winds finally died down and it was not as chilly today. Slow drifts but we picked at shorts and some keepers with a couple of guys getting 2. Not enough showed up for the afternoon although the weather was not bad. Just a note, because I have been hearing some feed back about the no braid in the back of the boat. I only said I do not want people fishing with it under the boat in the back. If we are drifting one side or you are casting out and not letting it go under then that is ok. I do a lot of power drifting to hold a certain depth or hit a spot and that is where the problem is. If I were to just drift along and not put the engines in gear then there is no problem with it in the back. Sorry I cant just do that all the time, I feel like I am not trying hard enough unless we are catching fish that way. Here are a couple of pics and the next few days look good. Hope to see you then and thanks for looking in.

Tuesday 5/30 report
I was a little surprise at the turnout this morning, thinking nobody would show. We worked our a off with a lot of power drifting to hold certain depths and even with that picked shorts and some keepers. Did not get pics from the morning as I left the camera in the truck, but would have loved one of Jerry Mahoney getting a keeper on his fist trip this year (he comes a lot). Will miracles never cease, ha ha. Only a few showed for the afternoon but we went out and caught shorts and almost as many keepers as the morning with half the people. Teacher Ed , maybe we should call him afternoon Ed came back out after a poor morning for him and got 2 keepers. Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in.

Sun- Mon reports 5/28-29
We got out both trips on Sunday with a little better crowds but not a big one. Picked at shorts and some keepers but not as good as the day before, probably the conditions. the morning was not much better than the afternoon. Today the weather man scared the fishermen and some of the captains as only a couple of boats shaped up to go out. We had a slow morning but a better afternoon and only some showers in the morning but not the afternoon. Picked shorts and few keepers (Fluke), some boats count everything that you can keep as keepers ie bluefish, sea robins, skates etc. Here are a few pics, and we don't take them of all the keepers. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you soon on the dock.

Saturday 5/27 Where are the fishermen
We went out this morning with an ok size group but not for a holiday weekend. Weather was good, fishing not bad, but not a great turnout. There were a lot of boats, private, personal boats but we managed to put a catch together. Less action with the shorts then yesterday but we did have a limit. On the afternoon trip there was very little drift but we did catch shorts and some keepers, including a 6 1/2 lber by"chicken" Mike. Another nice day tomorrow so hope to see you on the dock. Thanks for looking in.

Friday 5/26 Fluke time
None of the boats went out on opening day due to the weather. Today we did and had a very nice morning, catching as many keepers, up to 4 lbs,as we had fishermen and lots of shorts. The afternoon was not as good but ok with less action and half the amount of keepers. Teacher Ed came back out to get the pool with one of his 2 keepers to get revenge (did not have any keepers in the morning). John Porzio started his fluke season with 2 keepers also. Here are a few pics and hope to see you soon on the dock. Thanks for looking in.

5/24 The last blues
We got out both trips on Weds and caught big blues on both of them. With the new moon current the blues had the advantage and it was a struggle to get them to the boat. Missed and broke off more than we caught but everyone had fun. Fluke season opens today (May 25 to Sept 5), but the weather is not cooperating with rain and easterly winds. We will decide later if we are or not going out. Hoping to get the morning trip in anyway. See you soon and thanks for looking in. Here are a few pics.

Tues 5/23 Got the blues
We tried for stripers for a little while in the morning with no results so we went to catch some bluefish. Slow pick that got better and we caught some beauties. On the afternoon trip we targeted the bluefish and after a slow start we began picking some nice ones. Back at it tomorrow at 8 AM and 1:30 PM, they will be our last striper and bluefish trips. Fluke on Thursday so hope to see you on the dock, thanks for looking in.
Sun/Mon 5/21-22 reports Blues and Stripers
We got out on both trips Sunday and tried for stripers first in the morning but we did not catch any and did not see any caught. Switched oveer to blues and picked at some nice fish including a keeper fluke. In the afternoon we went just for the blues and picked all afternoon on one drop. Did not expect to get out in the rain on Monday but a handful showed up and we did catch a couple of short stripers and picked at some nice big blues. Switching to Fluke on Thursday on the same half day schedule, leaving at 8 AM and again at 1:30 PM. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in.

Sat 5/20 report
We got out both trips to day but only blues on both of them. Just a pick but some nice fish came aboard. Tomorrow looks good as far as weather goes but we have some iffy weather on Monday and we will see what the rest of the week brings. Don't forget Fluke opens on Thurs 5/25 so hope to see you on the dock. Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in.
