Thurs 11/29 schedule update

   We have not been out the last few days with all the wind but will try again tomorrow, Friday for striped bass. Will then blackfish for the weekend and Monday for now. Green carbs supplied sailing at 7:30 AM.  Thanks for looking in and hope to see yous soon.

Sun 11/25 Not sailing tom

  The fishing was no good today with the big swell and tomorrow 's forecast is for rain so we will not be sailing since not enough will show up. Not sure about Tuesday with the wind forecast so stay tuned. Thanks for looking in  and call if you re not sure about the forecast.

Weds 11/21 No go and tomorrow

   We did not have enough fishermen show up to go out this morning. We will NOT be sailing tomorrow, Thanksgiving,ue to the strong gale winds and bitter cold for this time of year. We will be there to go blackfishng  on Black Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Thanks for looking in and Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Tues 11/20 Strpers and blues

     We did a striper trip today with another small group and glad we made it out. From the get go we caught fish every drift, good action, mostly shorts but a few slot fish and a keeper in the mix with a couple of bluefish.. Will be back at it tomorrow , maybe just a half day with the wind coming, but not sure about the special on Thanksgiving with the cold temps and gusty winds, will decide tomorrow. Monday 11/19 Blackfish report

   I had a couple of calls to go blackfishing today so we did but with only a handful of anglers that I all know.  Only made two drops and picked on both of them with shorts and keepers on a flat calm ocean. Every one caught and went home with fish from a limit(now 5) on down. Left the camera at home so no pics today. We will striper fish the next few days and go blackfishing on black Friday. Sunday 11/18 Blackfish and lets do it again tomorrow

     We did a black fish special today but it was not up to par after the storm on Thurs/Fri. Picked at some shorts and a few keepers on every drop but not good. It sounded like the striped bass fishing was not much better so will blackfish tomorrow also then do stripers on Tues, Weds and Thursday(Thanksgiving 1/2 day special). Blackfish for black Friday and the weekend and go from there. Thanks for looking on and here are a few pics of  some of the fish.

Thursday 11/15 update and schedule

     Well we shaped up on Weds but nobody showed. None of the boats went out today and won't tomorrow. Saturday looks like the next nice day and we will be Striper fishing on that day but will do a blackfish special on Sunday with green crabs provided with now a 5 fish per person limit.  We will also run a Thanksgiving day special on Thursday from 7:30 AM to 12:30 pm for stripers.  Not sure yet about what we will be fishing for next weekend , so stay in touch. 11/12 Monday's Striper report

   For those who do not realize it we are striped bass fishing for now with the one keeper blackfish limit and the requests to go for stripers.  Very small turnout for us but we went out and had a nice day fishing with a very calm ocean and good action on the stripers. Most were small but we did catch some bonus fish(24 - 28") to take home..  Everyone on board caught fish, all on jigs and shads but jigs worked better. No party boats up here sailed today Tues, but we will be back at it tomorrow, Weds.  If you want to give stripers a shot and want some room on the boat then come on aboard. We are hopping some more keepers (over 28") show up and will play it by ear for our fish type schedule ie MAY switch back  to blackfish for the weekend with boats running all over knocking down the fish. Sunday Vets day 11/11

   First of all let me thank all the veterans who have served. It was the first nice day in a a couple of days with not too much wind. It was our first striped bass trip and we did manage to catch a few shorts and a slot fish( we have bonus tags for fish between 24 and 28"). The best of the action was in the morning and then it  was a search and hope to find a few more that we did not. Sounds like everyone had a tough time after that. Friday 11/9 Nobody went/ Striper time

    None of our boats went out this morning with the forecast and tomorrow does not look good either with winds gusting to 40 mph. We will try again on Sunday but will be switching to striped bass for now since that seems to be the way to go with the turnout for it. If the striped bass fishing is good, which it hasn't been we will stay with it. If not then back to blackfish which open to 5 per man on the 16th of this month. Thurs 11/8 Nice day again

    Today was one of the nicer days of the fall, a little cool but light winds and calm sea. Went back to where we have been fishing and picked away again but not as good as it has been. Made one other drop and caught some more. High hook and pool winner was Pat Lamb with 4 keepers that he took his limit out of. Not sailing tomorrow with the weather forecast and not sure about Saturday. If we go it will be for striped bass since it seems that is what the majority of the fishermen want and this one fish blackfish limit per person is not cutting it. Forgot the camera but thanks for looking in.

Weds 11/7 report

   We went out with a small group, just enough to go out and only had to make one drop to  pick away at the backfish. Mostly shorts but enough keepers for all to go home with one for dinner. Was thinking of switching to striped bass for the weekend but will wait to see how it goes. The bass boats did not do good today so will play it by ear. Tomorrow looks good weather wise but not going out on Friday. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Tues 11/6 Any early readers ?

   I changed my mind about today and we will try to go out if enough fishermen show up. Green crabs and clam on the boat but clam has not been working with dogfish and no porgies around. Maybe see you later if not then tomorrow and Thursday look good. Thanks for looking in.

Monday 11/5 no go

    We did not even try today ( nobody else went out ) with the wind forecast and tomorrow does not look good either. I was on the fence about tomorrow but think it will not be nice with 5 ft seas and showers so we will punt and see you on Weds. Thanks for looking in.

Sunday 11/4 Where were you this summer

      When you are bottom fishing some times you never know what will come up. Lenny caught a nice fluke on a crab but of course he went back. We had a very nice day on the water with a light breeze and a calm ocean. Good pick on short blackfish and a couple of sea bass with some nice keeper tog (blackfish). Everyone caught fish but not all caught a keeper, but we did end up with a boat limit, of one per man. Tomorrow does not look good and will not be sailing with east winds gusting to 30 knots. We will see what Tuesday brings so stay in touch. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in.

Friday 11/2 Nobody sailed and nobody will

     With the weather forecast today none of the boats went out even with th warm temps. Tomorrow,Saturday looks like a blow out with winds to 40 + mph so don't come down We will try again on Sunday and we have plenty of crabs for the blackfish since that is about all that is biting on the bottom. Thursday 11/1 Great weather & fishing - go figure

    Not only did we have a very nice day on the ocean with warm temps and a calm ocean but we also had a banner day catching fish. This does not happen too often as the opposite usually occurs. After we anchored up we slowly started to pick some short blackfish and a couple of sea bass. As we sat there it got better and better with a good pick on short tog but some nice keepers mixed in. Everyone caught fish, not keepers, but all went home with one. We ended up with a boat limit of tog (one per person) and probably threw more than that back in keepers along with a couple of hundred shorts   Tomorrow does not look good with a rain and wind forecast so wait until Sat or Sunday.
