Fri 5/ 31 Nice day & we got some together

   The weather was beautiful today on the water and I'm  sure it was on land. Too bad the fishing was not the same, as we picked at shorts and a few keepers this morning, but not enough. The afternoon trip was a little better with more keepers and shorts but still not good.  Hopefully things will change soon.  Thanks for looking in and hope to see you soon. here are a few pics.

Tues 5/28 - Thurs 5/30 slow week

    It's been a slow week thanks to the weather and forecasts. Didn't make either trip on Tues and only got out in the mornings on Weds and Thurs  as did the other half day boats. Ed Christensen took the pool on Weds with his beauty and Marty got it this morning with one of his two keepers. The fishing was better today with better conditions. We are picking some shorts but not the amount we should be catching. Tomorrow and the weekend look good so hope to see you then. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Monday Memorial Day & don't give up

      Although the fishing (catching) has not been great we are hanging in putting some keeper fluke in the boat along with the shorts, but there is not a lot of action. High hook in the morning was a limit of three but teacher Ed  got is two along with the pool. We did have a look at the whale in the bay to start the day. A little tougher in the afternoon with a very slow drift but we did manage keepers around the boat along with some shorts.Bob Caputo tied for the pool after he gave up and then went back to fish, so never give up. Bill O Hara also showed up to fish this afternoon and got his keeper. Back at it tomorrow although the weather man is saying some possible t- storms but we will see if enough show up to go. Sunday 5/26 Reverse trips

     We headed out on a very nice morning to find very little drift and the fishing not like yesterday morning. The boats all had good gangs so it figures this would happen. Slow pick of shorts here and there with a couple of keepers. On the afternoon trip we had to work hard but put a much better catch together and it paid off. We actually had one man with his limit and the pool fish of 5 lbs, with other keepers and shorts around the boat. Back on the dock tomorrow, Memorial Day, remembering those who served. Sat 5/25 better

    A much better morning than yesterday but not great. Keeper fluke around the boat and a better pick of shorts. The afternoon so so much with the south winds kicking up. Back at it tomorrow and everyday for two trips @ 8 AM and again @  1:30 PM. Thanks for looking in and here are pics of some of the fish. I will not be taking pics of all of the fluke and may not be posting every day unless we have a great one or a big one. Thank you and call me if you need an update.

Friday 5/24 Fuke time

    Well the weatherman was right for a change with the wind forecast of winds to 30 + mph so it was a bit rolly out there. Got a keeper and at least ten shorts on the first drift but then had to leave. Rest of the morning we made long drifts picking a few shorts and ended up with only a couple of keepers. On the afternoon trip we had to go away to another area to get away from the waves with wind against  tide. Same thing with a few shorts and a couple of nice keepers with my man Michael Jackson getting his first keeper of the season. Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in. weather looks much better for the weekend so hope we can improve on the catches.

Weds 5/22 Stripers and blues

     On the morning trip we boated a couple of nice stripers but there was not much action besides the misses and break offs. On the afternoon we got a short bass, broke one off and missed a few before we headed to where we caught some blues yesterday. Boated a couple of beauties to 18 lbs but only kept what we wanted. Back at it tomorrow for last striper/bluefish trip before we switch over to Fluke on Friday. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

5/21 Blues Tues

      It was pretty windy on the dock this morning and very few showed up to go out so we did not make it. Did not think we would go the afternoon either but as the only boat trying we did get enough to go. Told everyone how the fishing was last couple of days but they wanted to go. First drop got a blue right away. Then tried another area and got a pick going of blues but no bass. Missed a few and lost a few more with the bite offs. We did boat a few as one fellow wanted them so if you are coming in the next two days then bring or buy some wire leader hooks if you want to catch and keep the bluefish. Monday 5/20 Whale of a show

     We went out this morning with a handful but got a nice surprise with a whale putting on a show jumping, tail slapping and even came by the boat waving his flipper. To me that was worth the trip but we then also caught a couple of keeper stripers. No blue fish action as we tried a different area. Not enough showed to make the afternoon trip but we will be back on the dock in the morning. Thanks for looking in and here are a couple of pics but didn't get them of the whale.

Sunday 5/19 Guess who showed up

       Made both trips again as it was nice day but the wind did kick up in the afternoon. On the morning trip we did not see anything while waiting for the tide change so we moved to another area and boated a keeper striper along with some blues. Made another drop and got another keepers bass along with losing a few fish. We also did boat a couple of fluke that would have been keepers. The afternoon trip was not as good with a blue fish and missing a few. I told people to bring sweat shirts as it got cold on the way in from the morning trip but luckily the shifted a little and it was not cold.
