The crew and I would like to wish everyone a Happier, healthier and safe New Year. I only had one call for tomorrow's trip so we will not be going out, but looks like Saturday will be a go. Sunday is still up in the air with the rain forecast, so give me a call on Saturday. Thanks for looking in and stay safe and healthy as this thing is spreading fast.

Weds 12/30 Big improvement But...
I had few calls for today and expected a decent turnout, as the other boats did, we but did not have one. We went out anyway and ended up having a decent day with a high hook of 4 keeper black fish by Ryan, Manny with 3, Mike and another young guy with 2, on down to one along with a pick of shorts with everyone catching fish. Not sailing tomorrow with the weather forecast and will play the next few days by ear. With rain in the forecast I don't think there will be much around the next few days but will let you know if I get enough calls. Thanks for looking in and if we don't see you have a Happier, Safe and Healthy New Year. Here are few pics and our condolences to the family of Capt Chris Hueth of the Big Mohawk.

Monday 12/28 - No go is neither is Tuesday
Only a couple of guys showed up to go fishing today and as it turned out no boats went out. Tomorrow does not look good with the wind and temp forecast so will will NOT be going out. Weds looks much better and we have people coming down for that day, and we will go from there as the rest of the week looks a little iffy with rain coming in. Hope we to see you soon and if not stay safe and safely enjoy your new year. Thanks for looking in and feel free to call me if you are unsure of the schedule. Fishing for Blackfish with crabs provided.

Sunday 12/27 Great day on the ocean but...
We sailed our first blackfish (tog) trip on a beautiful ocean but the temps were cold. I can see why I stayed striper fishing until now as the fishing was not good, but I 'm sure the wind we had on Thurs and Fri did not help leaving a swell. We had a very slow pick on the shorts and only a couple of keeper blackfish. We will be there in the morning to sail but the ocean will not be that nice with southerly winds picking up. Thanks for looking in and stay safe.

The crew and I would like to wish all of our patrons a happy and safe holiday. We will not be sailing until Sunday 12/27 and now fishing for blackfish . Thank you for looking in, stay safe and hope to see you soon or in the spring.

Stripers anyone ? Tuesdays update 12/22
We did not get out on Monday but one boat did and they did not catch or find any stripers. There were birds and bait around that afternoon so we will give it one last shot before switching to blackfish which has not been good this week. It should be a nice day tomorrow, Weds, but after that it will not. Therefore, after tomorrow, we will not sail again until Sunday. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you on the dock (with your mask).

Sunday 12/20 Still striper fishing
We only had a few show up this morning and decided to do a half day trip. Picked away all morning on every drift and the action was good. Back at it tomorrow and staying with the striped bass for now as the blackfishing has not been good. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you soon. For some reason only one pic came out.

Saturday 12/19 Stripers are still here
We did not have enough to go out today but the stripers are still there and we will be sailing tomorrow, Sunday, so come down if you want to catch them. It is work to keep jigging, but it is fun to be catching fish all day long rather than waiting for a bite. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you in the morning. We will be sailing every day through early Jan but will be switching to blackfish when the striper bite dies.

Sunday 12/13 They are still there
We had a great start to the morning with decent action catching shorts and slots and a keeper(over 28"). it gradually slowed down picking fewer each drift. It was a little rolly but there was very little wind, it was leftover energy from the nite before and the out going tide increased it. Tried one other area that was even worse, very uncomfortable, and the went to where we have had a lot of action but most are smaller fish. Picked away at the fish and caught a few more slot fish (24 -28") before we went in. We will be on the dock tomorrow ready to sail, but not sure how many will show with the rain forecast. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Sat 12/12 We were there, where were u
The weather people predicted rain that we did not get, imagine that. May have not been sunny and warm but it did not rain and the fish don't mind if it did, go figure. But we ended up with just enough to go and had a good day catching a keeper, our limit of bonus fish and lots of shorts for action. Tomorrow sounds like it will be a very nice day for December and then the rest of the week after Tues will be cold. Hope to see you soon so stay safe and healthy. Thanks for looking in, here are a few pics. If you are not sure of our schedule, feel free to call me.

Real Fri 12/11 Great weather and fishing, don't wait
There are not many days that the weather and fishing are both good. Plenty of action from start to finish with a grand finale'. Great start to the morning with 3-4 on, shorts, bonus fish(24-28"that we have tags for), and a couple of keepers (28 -38"). Caught fish on every drift and the last few drifts were incredible. If one did not catch a few then they should take up golf or bird watching. Not everyone went home with fish, most did, but everyone caught a bunch. Many of the guys told me it was the most stripers they ever caught. The weekend looks good except for some possible showers, but don't let that stop you. Sailing every day, weather permitting, so come on down. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in.

Friday 12/10 Another good one and don't wait
We did not make it out on Weds, only one boat went, but got out today with a small group and had a great morning but it did not last when the tide changed. Picked away away at shorts and bonus fish so everyone had something to go home with. It has been a good morning bite so don't take a break until it slows up, there will be time for you to eat your sandwich after it slows up. Back at it tomorrow so don't wait too long cause the end is near. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Sailing Weds 12/9
We did not try to go out today with the cold temps and wind forecast but will be there again tomorrow, Weds, so come on down and don't miss the hot striper bite. 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM dress warm and bring your own snacks / food. Thanks for looking in.

Monday 12/7 Cold temps - hot fishing
We got out with a small group on a cold December morning, temps about 30 and a breeze on top of it. But everyone warmed up on the first drift with the hot fishing, 2- 3- 4 on at a time. After about 50 minutes, still on the first drift, we limited out on the bonus fish and a nice 30 inch keeper. Caught fish the whole day but not as fast as the first couple of hours. Guys actually got tired of catching and sat down for a few. Mate Chris came out with his dad and uncle and caught about 30 himself even with an hour break. Not sailing tomorrow as have not had any calls and it will be a bit windy and cold. Although you do not need reservations now, it helps to let me know if you are coming. Thursday on looks better this week as temps will pick up and the winds die down. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Not sailing Sunday 12/6
The weather got us this weekend with rain and wind today and wind tomorrow that will be against the tide making it even rougher. Looks like none of the boats will be going out so sleep in and see you during the week or next weekend. Thanks for looking in and stay safe, stay healthy. Its going to be a long winter but hopefully we can all get through this.

Friday 12/4 another good one
We went with another small group this morning and beat em up right away with 3 - 4 fish on at a time . Limiting out early with bonus tag fish and then started throwing them back with the shorts. Caught a few keepers also but the good bite did not last as long as yesterday but we did catch on every drift. Not sailing tomorrow but hopefully on Sunday. Thanks for looking in and don't wait too long as you never know when they will be gone. Here are a few pics.

Thurs 12/3 Could NOT be better
We went out with only a few, but even at that the mate Chris and I could just keep up with the netting and measuring fish. Limited out by the second drift with bonus fish and could have done that at least 5 more times. Did catch a few bigger ones to 33 " but the action was incredible with the shorts and bonus fish, with guys catching 20 - 30 fish or more. If you can take off work tomorrow you should as it doesn't get better than this. Saturday is not looking good right now but should be back on for Sunday, will let you know if we are sailing on Saturday or not. Her are a few pics but not everyone wants them taken. Thanks for looking in and don't miss this bite.

Sunday 11/29 Another good one
The good striped bass fishing is still on. The best of the action has been in the first part of the morning but we caught stripers and blues all day. Limiting out on bonus fish (24 - 28") and getting keepers of 28 - 38", so everyone goes home with a fish or two. Pool fish went 37 1/2 " , what a beauty as has been the weather the last few days. Nobody out today, Monday, and tomorrow does not look good either. See you on Weds and thanks for looking in. Here are some pics of only few of the fish.

Sat 11/28 Wow ! Even better
We caught some on the first couple of drifts and then had a super drift with the crew and my self netting and gaffing, big stripers and blues. Limited out on slots and threw some back and had more keepers(28 - 38") then the last few trips including a 42" slob that had to go back. The unfortunate thing was that some people left without taking some fish, and the crew and I busted our hump making sure everyone would go home with one. Back at it tomorrow but not Monday or Tuesday with the weather coming. Plenty of room for social distancing so come get them while its hot. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics that do not do the day justice.
