Sun 12/31 Blackfish bounce back - Sailing tomorrow 1/1/24

      We had much better fishing today with a decent pick of shorts and keeper black fish. Steve, who is normally a fluker and shined on the striped bass trips this year, took the pool with a tog shy of 7 lbs. Everyone caught fish and most went home with fish as Lenny had 3 keepers, several guys with 2  and one. Even Jeremy and I had a couple of keepers each to take home, and we will be back at it tomorrow and Tuesday. Hope to wee you, if not have a Happy, Healthy and safe New Years. Blackfish report 12/29 & 30

   We had very slow fishing on Fri after the blow on Thurs only catching a few fish. Not enough showed up on Sat so we did not go but I heard it was slow again. Hopefully today, Sunday  will be better and we will be sailing on Mon,  New years day and Tues. Will put  a report up later about today's fishing. Thanks for looking in.

Thurs 12/28 Schedule update

   I had a few calls for tomorrow morning (Fri 12/29) so we will give it a go, but not sure what to expect as there is a roll. Also sailing Sat, Sun and Monday ( new years day). Fishing for Black fish and have green crabs for bait. Pic is from last trip. Thanks for looking in.

Sun 12/24 Black fish report - Happy Holidays

    First we would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday. We  picked away at the shorts on Sunday with high hook of 15 by Kelly, everyone caught fish; but not a lot of keepers. Sailing today, Tuesday but not tomorrow , Weds, with the rain forecast. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Sat 12/23 Switching to Blackfish

     We only had a few show up but not enough to go and the boats that did go went with a handful or two. Therefore we will be switching to balckfish tomorrow, Sunday, but not sailing Christmas day Monday. Tuesday looks good so far not sure about Weds or Thurs. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you on the dock if not have a nice Chruistmas/ holiday.

Sailing Sat 12/23 Stripers? /Blackfish?

    I got a report of some bird life working this morning so we will give it one last shot at the stripers and if it does not work out we will then switch to black fish for the other half of the day, we have crabs on board. So be prepared for both  and hope for the best. They are just starting to see a few blackfish since the weekend storm but it is not good. So we will see what happens. Weds 12/20 No good today - Not sailing till Sat

     We went out with a handful of regulars to test the waters after the storm and found no bird life or readings. Made a bunch of stops but it was no good, as there was still a big swell in the morning. Not sailing tomorrow or Friday and we will see what happens after that, if we hear anything about the stripers before making a change.  Thanks for looking in.

Sat 12/16 Boat limits and sailing Weds 12/20

     After an ok day on Friday we started the day off slow but ended up with a bang, limiting out on slots(bonus fish) and keepers throwing back some slots, unders and overs to 36" by Krissey. You missed an absolutely gorgeous day with a small group and good fishing on top of it.  Shawn put on show boating over 20 - 25 fish. Of course no one sailed since then but we will try again tomorrow, Weds 12/20  and see if they are sill around.  Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Fri 12/15 Not like Weds but ok

     We expected good fishing when we saw the birds like Weds in the same area, but it did not happen. Picked a few fish and then did  some riding around looking for some readings and ended up where we ended on Weds. A little better then where we started, catching a couple of keepers ans more slots(bonus) fish. Back at it tomorrow but not Sunday or Monday, probably the next trip will be on Weds, we will have to see. This upcoming storm may chase them away. Tomorrow may be you last shot at the stripers. Thurs 12/14 no peeps and no go -Still striper fishing

    Only had one show up this morning, in fact there was not enough between all the boats to go out BUT however I got enough calls for tomorrow to go out so come  on down , not sure how much longer they will stay around, hoping thru Sat  as Sunday and Monday do not look good to go out. Large heated cabin that is warm if you keep the doors closed. Thanks for looking in. Here is a pic but obviously not from today.

Weds 12/13 Kick n Bass again - it aint over yet

    We have not been out in a few days due to weather and coast guard inspection yesterday but we made it out with a small group today and was not sure to expect after the weekend weather. When we got to the grounds it was game on with birds working, fish breaking ans whales spouting, a few of them. First drift produced 7 slots(bonus) fish and a couple of keepers 28 - 31". We went on to limit out on slots and caught more than we kept.  Topped it off by limiting out on keepers also, with Kathy putting on show for the guys by catching 3 keepers and 6 slots. But here husband got the pool with his keeper as we also threw back shorts and a few overs to 34 " We are hoping it holds up thru Saturday, not sure about Sunday yet with the weather coming, so came and get your maybe last shot. Sat 12/9 It figures and a stranger (a fluke?)

    It figures that on a nice Saturday a with a nice turnout of people, the fish did not bite as good as earlier in the week. Caught a bunch of slot(bonus fish) and some shorts and keepers but we were hoping for more. Obviously no one was out the last couple of days so not sure what this weather did to the fish. We will give it a shot on Wednesday and go from there. I will post tomorrow nite if something changes. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics, look at the last one.

Fri 12/8 Still catching them so don't miss out.

    We had another good day of striper fishing with a light crowd, limiting out on slots (bonus tag fish, which we have plenty of) then releasing  the rest, and adding a few keeper striped bass in also. Joe took the pool with his keeper and took home a bonus fish also. No overs abut some shorts so there was plenty of action. Everyone went home with fish on a beautiful day, nicest one this week. Yes, sailing tomorrow but NOT Sunday, Monday or Tuesday , @ 7:30 AM, we shape up @ 6 so if you want your lucky spot get down early. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

 

Thurs 12/7 Another good day of striper fishing

    Only a few showed up at the dock this morning but we went out and it was chilly. At least we have a large heated cabin but the fishing as also hot as we limited out in the first 20 minutes on slot fish and continued to catch and release after we our our limit. Action all day long and everyone went home with fish. Back at it tomorrow and Saturday, Sailing @ 7:30 AM, but not looking good for Sunday and Monday and we are not available on Tuesday.
