Sun/ Mon 4/28 & 29 They were wrong but caught some today

The weather people, with all their fancy electronics and equipment got it wrong for Sunday as it blew over 40 mph and the fishing was not good as we had to hide from it in the back of the bay. Today could have not been nicer, weather wise, but we only caught a few fish and only a few people, with Jamie being high hook with 3 keepers. Back at it tomorrow and every day, until Fluke season, on May 4, sailing 3/4 day through Friday for stripers, and then switching to 1/2 day on the weekend. From then on it will be 1/2 day, Weds, Fri, Sat. and Sunday.  6 hr trips on Monday, Tues and Thurs, 8 AM - 2 PM. Thanks for looking in and here are a couple of pics.

Sat 4/26 Another decent day for Stripers - Sailing tomorrow, Sun unless.

We ended up being the only boat to go out with the slow and low turnout on the dock as we got a few from the other boats. The weather was not bad and only got a few showers late in the day. We manage to cover all the boxes with mostly overs (>31") some shorts(<28") and some keeper stripers. We will be going out in the morning, Sunday, UNLESS they change the wind forecast to Gale force, only supposed to be small craft. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Fri 2/25 Not as good as yesterday but ok. Sailing tomorrow, Sat

We heard the fish were up on the way, and not far. But when we got there the boats were clustered together so we squeezed in and got one right away. Looked around and managed to get one or two here and there the rest of the day. Mostly overs(fish too big to keep to 40") , couple of shorts and keepers. We will be going out tomorrow despite the showers forecast, I got a few calls. We are also going on Sunday but it will be windy, that will turn them on. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Thurs 4/24 Much better Striper day

We had a good start by putting 4 or 5 fish in the boat on the first drift. A little while later we found the fish on top and had a couple of shots at them. Nice to see the fish closer to home although most of them are too big, we still took some home. Scott was high hook with 3, Butch  got 2 keepers, Mike 2 that were too big and some others around the boat. Nice to see guys around the boat catching and not just one or two guys catching most of the fish. back at it tomorrow and every day sailing @ 7:30 AM -2:30 - 3 until May 2 when we will do a mixed schedule, and switch to Fluke on Sunday May 4. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics, would have had more but had camera issues on the first few pics, including one of someone desperate.

Update to Mon 4/22 Big Stripers

Sorry, I had a issue with the computer the last couple of days but there was not much to report anyway. The "catching" was not good as most of the fish were either too small and mostly to big. At least today was beautiful with light winds but still not many on board despite the good forecast. Fish up to 45 " and we did get a keeper. Sailing every day @ 7:30 AM for now so hope to see you on board. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.

Good(not good)Fri and Sat Striper reports 4/18 &19

Like I said on my last report that Thurs fishing was ok but not great, and we have had worse days, but much better than Fridays fishing as we ran all over and caught crap. Today, however, was good fishing with a nice gang of people and luckily not far from home. Caught fish most of the day wilt;h a high hook of 4, 3 and some with 2 and one, and of course some did not connect.  Keepers, and shorts, with a few overs. Sailing a half day morning trip tomorrow, Easter Sunday, 7:30 AM - 12, then back on the 3/4 day schedule for now. Thanks for looking in, have a happy Easter, and here are some pics.

Thurs 4/17 First trip - Striper time

Only a handful showed up to go out this morning, all regulars we know by name, so we went. It was cold and breezy but not at all rough, and we picked slowly at the fish, keepers(28 - 31 "), some shorts and some overs to  33", bonus tags are not available yet. Bill was top dog boating 8 fish, 3 were keepers, along with a short and a few overs. Other keepers, shorts and overs were boated but overall not a great day but we have had many days that were a lot worse. Now sailing every day 3/4 day leaving at 7:30 AM - 2:30 - 3. On Easter Sunday we will run a half day trip, 7:30 - 12. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.
