Only had to make one drop on both trips to have a good pick on the porgies with constant action the whole time. We only had a few fishermen on board both trips despite the nice day. The better fishermen ending up with 40 or more keepers (the limit is 50 @ 9 inches) and everyone on board had plenty to take home. The action was so good the 3/4 day boats came in early, before we left for the second trip. We will be trying to sail 2 trips every day weather permitting. We are fishing the ocean but not far out, about a 45 min ride. But if the ocean is too rough to fish there is not much going on in the bay, only one or two spots that hold a few fish. Here are a few pics and hope to see you soon.

Sunday 9/25 Fluke Finale
Weather was beautiful but the fluke boats were not crowded fishing one side. Picked shorts with a few keepers mixed in with the afternoon being better than the morning. On the afternoon trip Kenny (corona) got the pool and was high hook with 3 keeper fluke. We will now be switching to bottom fishing targeting porgies which has been very good and blackfish(can only keep one). Same half day schedule sailing @ 8 A M and 1:30 P M every day weather and customer permitting i e winds less than 25 mph and enough to go out. Here are a few pics and hope to see you soon.

Fri and Sat reports - Ladies day
Other than the good shot of fish on Thurs afternoon the fishing continues to be slow getting only a few fish a trip with rare keeper mixed in. On Sat morning ( that was not nice) a young lady, Marissa showed up the few guys we went out with, by getting the pool fish on the last drift. Did not get her pic but have an old one from a previous trip that I will put up. On the afternoon trip same thing with getting shorts here and there and then some keepers but the weather was much nicer. Again a woman got about one about 4 lbs beating her dad who only got a keeper. Today is the last day to keep fluke and then we will switch to half day porgy fishing but you can keep one blackfish. We will be on the same sailing schedule for a couple of more weeks so check before you come down. Here are a few pics from the last two days and thanks for looking in.

9/21 &9/22 reports -Ya never know
Had a poor morning yesterday but had an improvement in the afternoon. Today the morning was also slow only catching a few keepers. On the afternoon trip though we had a great first drift and picked some more on the next few drifts. High hook was Ed again with 3 keepers but some others had 2 like Joe who won the pool and also tied on the afternoon before and Artie who did not get his pic taken. Good for Joe and about time. Here are some pics so hope to see you the next few days if you want Fluke.

Tues 9/20 report
No boats went out on Monday with the weather but we did make both trips on Tues. Had a slow pick on fish with not too many shorts but some nice keepers to 4 1/2 lbs, catching almost as many as we had fares on the boat, which is good for the way it has been. High hooks have been two or three keeper fluke but there are some who do not get any. On the afternoon trip Ed Christensen got three keepers adding to the one he got on the morning trip. Here are only a few pics, why the crew didn't take more is beyond me.

Sunday 9/18 Don't come Monday
Looks like the weather will be pretty crummy today so don't bother coming down cause there will not be enough to go out. Sunday morning we picked at some shorts, sea robins and a few dogfish but only a few keepers came on board. On the afternoon trip we boated more keepers but not a lot of action. At least 3 fishermen had a couple of keeper fluke each including Lee who had 3 Ks Saturday afternoon plus a few others around. Here are a few pics of some of yesterday's catch. Hope to see you on a nicer days and we are still sailing 2 trips every day weather & people permitting. Sunday is the last day to keep fluke, we will then switch to porgies and black fish on the same schedule for a few more weeks.

Sat 9/17 Report 7 1/4lb surprise
I have not posted the last couple of days but we have been getting out every trip although Thurs and Fri afternoon we had barely enough to go. We have managed at least a pool fish or a few more but Sat morning we got lucky and found a few more. We had a nice surprise with a 7 1/4 lb beauty coming up on a rod rental using just spearing on the first drift but then we lost the drift. Moved around and found a few more on one lucky drift and ended with a decent morning catch for the way it has been.
The southerly winds kicked up again late morning and got stronger in the afternoon making the conditions not too good. We did, however, have a high hook of three keepers and several others around the boat. The weather today looks good but I have a feeling there will not be enough fishermen around to sail on Monday and Tuesday with the rain forecast. Here are some pics from Saturday's trips.

Weds 9/14 Still hanging in
We are still getting out on both trips every day but no big crowds, generally one side fishing. As most of you know the fishing has not been good lately but we are still catching shorts a few keepers (Fluke), small blues, sea robins and dog fish every trip so far. and the weather has been beautiful. Cool mornings and a cool breeze in the afternoon, although today looks like we will have a breeze all day. Fred and Kathy both got a keeper in the afternoon along with others caught, Fred took the the pool. You can see the weather turning behind Fred's pic. Here are a few pics and thanks for looking in.
