Sat 11/12 nice day and good fishing

It started out on the cold side and a little breezy but for those who wee down it was worth it. Made a couple of stops close but no good. Rode around a little then came upon some birds and fish splashing on top. It took a couple of stops to get the fish but we did pick at shorts and slots(we have bonus tags for fish between24 -28 inches) and did get a few keepers to 31 inches. Not  everyone caught fish but everyone went home with fish. The fish we up the whole day here and there. Here are a few pics but not of all the fish caught or kept. Striper fishing a few more days then switching to blackfish when it opens on Weds 11/16.

11/11 report

We did manage to get out today despite the wind forecast. Not a bad morning but the wind did pick up in the afternoon. Looked down the beach to no avail so went back up north  and found some fish. Long ride but we did get some fish. Keepers and some slots and shorts but it was action. Sailing tomorrow and the next few days so hope to see you soon. Here are a few pics.

Thurs 11/10 Where are you

It was a nice day today but we did not get out due to lack of turnout. What I do not get is after the fluke season closed we switched to bottom fishing which was mostly porgies, but very good fishing by the way. I was getting calls asking when will we be fishing for striped bass and I told people when they start to catch them we will switch. We have switched to striped bass and are not seeing the turnout. Now people are calling about bottom fishing, I don't get it. We will be sailing tomorrow although it will be breezy and will try every day we can. We also do have bonus tags for the fish between 24 and 28 inches (one per person allowed by law). We have not been crowed so come anytime, even weekends. Blackfish opens on  the 16th of this month. Hope to see you soon.

Tues 11/8 Ladies day and we held our own

We did not make it out on Monday but did today. Decided to try down south in the ocean and did get a keeper. Did a lot of riding down to south along side the Belmar and Pt Pleasant boats off Long Branch. Worked back to the north and got a slot fish(we have bonus tags). Apparently we did as good as everyone else or better and the ladies caught all the fish. I do not think there will be enough to go out tomorrow with the rain forecast so hold off to later in the week. I have been disappointed with the turnout for the striped bass after all the calls I got a few weeks ago asking when will we be switching over. We will be fishing for the Striped bass till blackfish opens on   Nov. 16 and will take it form there.Hope to see you soon and call if you need info.

Sat/ Sun reports not good

Had nice weather on Sat and you could tell by the tons of boats out there. That was the problem, as the fish came up they got run down. We started the morning with a nice keeper by Pat and then could not get near the fish again. Today there were not as many boats but the fish did not want to cooperate for any of the party boats. We covered a  lot of ground (areas) from local to the west end of  Staten island to east of Rockaway including Keansberg and Belford flats and the knoll. We will be back at it tomorrow so hope to see you on the dock. Thanks for looking in. Sorry for the pic.
