Thurs 6/4 Beautiful day on the water

     We could not have had a nicer day on the water with a light breeze and nice temps. Expected a little better fishing with great conditions but picked slowly at some shorts and a couple of keeper fluke before moving to another area. Couple of more keepers but less short action so we moved on again after a few drifts. Tried a few other areas but not much better. An old friend/neighbor, Rod Bensen, came out and caught his keeper to bring home for dinner, second pic. Where are you guys(the fluke) and when will the rest of you show up? The waters are warming so hope they come in soon. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics. 

 

Tues /Weds No change fluke reports, dishearting

     As hard as we have been trying there is not much change in the catching of fluke unfortunately, hoping it will turn on soon. Picking at the shorts, slow at times, with a few keepers, very discouraging and some times I wonder why am I doing a report. At least the weather has been nice and we do have fun on the boat. So come out and enjoy the day and make the best of it, after all it is about the fishing not the catching.  Thanks for looking in and hope to see you n the boat. Here are some pics. 

 

 

 

Sun 5/31 & Mon 6/1 Fluke reports

      No boats went out on Sat, thankfully we didn't, as it was windier than they predicted, yet some people still showed up because they didn't call or check the web site. Sunday we picked at the shorts and a few keeper fluke for the day, but not good. Bob Wavro took the pool in the afternoon with a 3.3lb fish that would have taken the monthly pool but he was not in. Even if you come on the last day, you never know, cause it aint over till its over. Rick ended up wining the monthly pool. Today we started off with a nice pick of shorts and some keepers until we lost the drift. Went looking in other areas only to catch a few more, should have stayed, but had to try. Fri 5/29 nice day but NOT sailing Sat 5/30

     We tried where we have been fishing only to boat about ten short fluke. Next area was a fast drift but we did boat couple of shorts and a keeper, yay a pool fish. Went to where we had fish yesterday but it was not as good but we did pick slowly at the short fluke and a few keepers.  Then the wind and current died so we lost the drift. On the last drift we we did get another keeper, Brian's second and a couple more shorts, on a beautiful day. The pool fish was 3.2 lbs and would have taken the monthly pool up to now, but he was not in it.  NOT sailing tomorrow, Sat 5/30, due to the high winds and I believe everyone else also cancelled. We will be sailing on Sunday  5/31. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

 

 

Thurs 5/28 No limits but good action with shorts

    We tried where we have been fishing only to catch a few shorts and a keeper. We decide to take a ride to new areas and finally found some good action with shorts and a few keepers mixed in. Nice to have fish in a new area. Hopefully some new fish are moving in and we can get up to par with the fishing(catching). Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

 

Weds 5/27 A limit but less action with shorts

     Went out with a surprisingly nice group and expected a good morning. The fish were not where they were yesterday, imagine that, and had to look around to find some, but we did pick at the shorts, half as many as yesterday but did boat a few more keeper fluke. Jayne took the lead, and showed up the guys, getting her limit of 3 and a few others were boated on the morning trip. In the afternoon we tried another area and only got few shorts but a couple of keepers. Went back to where we got them yesterday, but on a different tide, but was not much better. Who knows what will happen tomorrow but we will be there. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

 

 

Mon/Tues 5/25 & 26 It may have ruined your weekend but it helped the fishing

    Despite the showers on Monday we made it out with a a small group and picked at the short fluke with a high hook of 9. Today was much better as we caught a lot more short fluke along with some keepers. Rick took the pool and is the new leader in the monthly pool. Hopefully things keep on improving.    Well it was not the camera but rather the reader and locating the  pics on a different thing, not sure what it is called. After a little help from Mike, trying it on his computer I found them. So here are some pics from the last couple of days including one of a wanna be (turtle).
