Although the black sea bass season is open there are not many keepers around and we have been doing very well with the porgies. We had a good morning with fish all around the boat and everyone going home with a bunch. The afternoon as opposed to the day before was ok but not as good. The better fishermen caught 15 -20 and some only went home with a few. Not sailing tomorrow, Monday or Tues with the fore cast and then switching to a morning trip only 6 hour trip, 8 AM - 2 PM. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in. BTW I am having trouble posting on facebook so check my website for reports.

Fish Friday 10/9 Back to back good ones
The morning trip stared off with a good pick of porgies and couple of sea bass and a short blackfish. Went to try a couple other spots looking for more sea bass and black fish but only caught a couple with one black fish ending up as the pool fish. Went back to look for some more porgies and had a good shot before we went in. In the afternoon we headed back to where we left them biting but my competitor jumped on my spot (karma ?). Went to another spot and only had to make one drop picking away at mixed size fish including quite a few jumbo porgies. Back at it today but not sailing Monday or Tues with the weather forecast. This will be our last weekend of half day fishing switching to a 6 hour morning trip only. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Weds 10/7 another good one
Went out to where we caught fish yesterday morning and they were there again. Picked away all morning and only made a shift when we swung off. Everyone had a nice mess of fish and a nice time. We did not try to go out in he afternoon with the wind forecast, of gale winds. Something to remember if it blows a gale, we don't sail. Thanks for looking in and here are few pics. Black sea bass opens tomorrow so we will be targeting both.

Tues 10/6 A good one
We didn't make it out on Monday with not enough showing up but did get out this morning with just enough to go and had a good one. First stop only a few but the next spot we picked away the rest of the trip with everyone going home with half buckets of fish for a few meals. Did not make the afternoon but will be there in the morning and already have a few coming down. Not sure about the afternoon so give me a call since they are predicting strong winds. No pics since I left the camera in the truck. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you soon.

Sunday 10/4 a tough one
I knew it would be one of those days when we were booked up for the morning but then had a bunch of no shows after turning people away. We headed out to where we caught them the day before and they were not there. Sounded like all the boats had a tough time, not that we did not catch fish but not many went home catching mostly sea bass but only a few keeper porgies. The highlight of the morning were 2 nice trigger fish that were caught. The afternoon was better as everyone went home with a few fish. Did not get out this morning but will be there for the afternoon trip. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics, triggers are at the bottom of the list.

Sat 10/3 Its FAll
It was a nice crisp morning with a nice ocean and we picked right away on the first drop then drifted and made a couple of more drops. Everyone went home with fish for a few meals, some more then others. In the afternoon we went to another area and only drifted. It started off slow but then got better and we ended up with nice catch where even the little ones caught fish. Don't forget your masks and to make reservations on weekends. Sailing half day through Columbus day 10/12 then switching to one 3/4 day morning trip only. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Thurs 10/1 The full moon
As most of you know the moon is what affects the tide so just before and after full and new moons there is a higher high and lower low tide, there fore there is much more current. Ont the morning trip it we picked at the fish until it lot strong then only a couple of guys could catch them with heavier weights. Everyone went home with a fish dinner and more. The afternoon trip was slower and when the tide got strong they shut off, but most caught a few fish. Still sailing half day trips through Columbus day, then switching to a longer morning trip only. Thanks for looking in and stay safe. Wear your masks when getting on and off the boat, bring your on own food and drinks and make reservations on weekend or holidays (or get there early but no guarantees). Here are a few pics.
