We went to the right area today but didn't have the fishermen as 3/4 of the boat had rod rentals but we did catch some keepers, slots and shorts but it was a struggle. Having a few good striper fishermen on board makes a big difference as they can pass there extras on to others.We are sailing tomorrow as we can fish the back bay but bring your spinning rods and shads or flutter spoons, Pete at Atlantic bait has them in stock. We went out with small group of guys and went everywhere. From the Shrewsbury rocks off Monmouth beach to west of Keansburg, only to produce a few shorts, slots and keepers. I'm hoping it is because of the new moon and we will be giving it shot tomorrow, Thursday. Thanks for looking in and here are only a couple of pics.
We went out with another small group on a beautiful Sunday, where are all the people that were asking about stripers in the fall? The fishing(catching) was a lot more picky catching mostly shorts and some slots here and there. None of the boats sailed today but we will be back at tomorrow, Tuesday, but not going out on Weds. Sticking with the striped bass until its not worth going for them anymore and then to Blackfish. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.
It was a beautiful day on the ocean which was like a pond. Had birds working all day as we picked at the fish, but hard to catch. Eventually everyone caught and all went home with fish. Limited out with slots and thru some back along with shorts, and a good amount of keepers to 35"and a few blues. Doing a shorter trip tomorrow, Sunday(back at 1 PM $ 70 pp), and not sailing Monday. We did not make it out on Friday with no customers and it was windy. Today looks good and so does tomorrow,12/5, but we will be doing a shorter trip form 7:30 AM to 1 @ $ 70 pp. We are not sailing Monday 12/6. Thanks for looking in and see you on the dock.
We had a nice morning for a couple of hours limiting out on slot (24 -28") fish along with shorts and a handful of keepers to 38" . The ocean got a little rolly so we ended up back in the bay for a couple of more fish, everyone went home with a fish or two. We will see how bad the wind gets tomorrow morning and decide then. We did not get out the last two days due to lack of clients. Got out today with a small group and picked away at the stripers right off the bat with shorts, some slot fish, and a keeper.
