Sunday/Mon 9/13 & 14 and old pics

We only made the morning trip on Sunday since not enough showed up.  We had to stay in the bay but did pick at shorts but no keeper fluke.  Monday morning was windy and did get out to the ocean but only  on beach where we picked so shorts and went back up to the bay. We scored and got 2 keeper fluke @ 4 and 5lbs.  Only one pic came out but I did manage to get some pics from this past week. We did not make the morning trip with the lack of fishermen but will be there for the afternoon trip. Here are some pics and thanks for looking in. Fishing 2 half day trips for fluke until Sat  9/19(last day of fluke season) and the will be bottom fishing  on the same schedule for now.

Update to 9/12

We have not got out on every trip, (Tues and Thurs) when not enough showed up but the days we did we tried to fish outside in the ocean. There has been a big swell and some people had a hard time with it. On Saturday we could not go into the ocean, way too rough, and many boats did not even try to go out. We  did on both trips but the only action was with shorts, the kids had a blast, a few sea robins and dogfish. We will see what today brings, and we will be trying to sail. Fluke ends on Sat 9/19 so on Sunday 9/20 we will switch to bottom fishing for porgies on the same schedule for now. Still waiting for some pics but did just get a new camera but only have one on it. Thanks for looking in, hope to see you soon and stay safe.

Update to Tues 9/8 and the pics

I finally got some of the pics that the crew took including the 8 1/2 lb beauty. We only got out in the afternoon trip on Tues and could fish where we wanted as the winds did not kick up like the two afternoons before. Caught a few beauties up to 6 lbs on the first drift but then it shut off and we only got some shorts and sea bass (out of season now) after that. The two days previous we fished the ocean in the morning but the swell did put a few people under the weather, the afternoons  were just to windy and rolly so we reverted back to the knoll where we did pick some short and a couple of keeper fluke.  We MAY  not be going out on Thurs since the forecast will deter most from coming down, call me if you are thinking about it. Here some pics of the  past trips. Thanks for looking in, the big one at the end.

Our biggest yet

We started out where we have been fishing but only caught a few shorts, sea robins and a keeper fluke.  Went out farther to another area and got a nice shot of keeper fluke including on that went 8.5lbs plus. Picked a few more keepers and shorts but then it was time to go. Went  back in the afternoon but the south wind kicked up and it was hard to hold bottom as well as rolly. Ended up on the knoll where we picked a few shorts but did get a keeper fluke.  Waiting to get pics from my crew as my camera is dead.  Thanks for looking in and we are still sailing everyday.

Weds thru Sat 9/5

We had good first drift on Sat morning picking away at short fluke, a few keepers and a bunch of jumbo porgies. Picked a few more on the second drift before we lost the drift. Got more more keeper fluke on the last drift but we were not moving. The afternoon was not as good but we did manage a couple of keeper fluke and lost a couple along with only a handful of big porgies. Unfortunately the camera died and I don't have pics of yesterdays catch. We got out on weds with a light crowd and only the morning trip on Thurs with the weatherman scaring everyone on a very nice afternoon. Friday the fishing was fair but weather has been nice. Still sailing 2 trips every day and here are some pics. Thanks for looking in.

Update to Tues 9/1

Seems like the weather people can not get it right by predicting rain ant storms that don't happen. We did not get out on Sat A M with only 3 showing up but did get out on the P M with t handful and the only boat.the same thing on Tues with just enough to get out on both trips. Fishing has been the same picking at short fluke and other fish with only a few keepers, except for Monday afternoon when we had a long, good drift(1 hr and 45 min) boating 7 keepers around the boat with nobody catching fore than one. Caught a couple more after that but could not repeat it on Tuesday when it got too rough to stay where we caught the fish on Monday. We have also been catching  some  small bluefish the last few trips.  Sunday was very windy so we had to fish the beach where the action was good but not many keeper fluke. Here are some pics from the last few trips (one with a strange color pattern) and thanks for looking in and don't forget reservations on weekends or for groups of 5 or more.

Weds /Thurs 8/27 & 28

Weds morning turned out very nice with no winds and good drifting conditions so we picked away the short fluke and  keepers where 1/3 of the boat went home a one. In the afternoon the wind kicked up again so we had to stay in our by by the navy pier and picked at the shorts  and couple of small blue fish when we got out to the knoll on the last drift. On Thursday we had good action with the shorts but not as many keeper fluke as Weds on the morning trip. In the afternoon the pick was slower but we did boat a few more keeper fluke. We will be sailing today as long as enough  show up to go out. Thanks for looking in, here are some pics and don't forget your masks.
