Thought it was going to be a great day when we got out and the fish were on top busting all over. But then I knew I was in trouble when there was only one guy in the pulpit and he busted one off. Come on people check your drags and lose is better than tight. We did end up boating some fish with Jim Balaki taking the pool with his keeper and he also had a slot fish. Fish around the boat but we had to work at it. Back at it in the morning and sailing every day , but Friday does not look good. Thanks for looking in and bring your spin reels and shads or flutter spoons if you have them. Here are some pics.

Update to Tue 11/9 Better to worse
Sunday was not good with mostly small fish but it was better than today. Sunday we stayed in an area where we caught one or two a drift with the little people catching more than there adults, and maybe should have gone to another area but hind site is twenty twenty. We did not get out on Monday with only a few showing up but did today and it was a beautiful day on the water as it was on the land. Too bad the fish didn't think so. They never turned on and we looked everywhere. Sounded like all the boats up here had a tough time but that is fishing and we will hope it will turn around tomorrow. Hope to see you then and thanks for looking in, here are a few pics.

Saturday 11/6 even better
The ocean was not that nice but we did get a couple of slot fish on the first drift, but then that was it. Went in search of going to where we had them yesterday but they were not there. Ended back to where we started as a few fish were being caught. They finally turned on and we picked on every drift, Shorts, slots(bonus tag fish between 24 -28") and some keepers. It was not that nice but not that rough either. Ended up with catch of fish with Big Mike C leading the way taking his limit out of 3 keepers (28 - 38") 4 slot fish and 5 or 6 shorts. Sailing every day @ 7:30 AM so hope to see you soon. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics of some of the fish, as the mates have their hands full measuring fish for the bonus tag program, including one at the end that I forgot from yesterday, a 46" monster that had to go back to make more babies.

Friday 11/5 A chilly one & now 3/4 day
A cold northerly wind made it feel colder than it was. But colder temps make these fish more active. Started off with 3 nice keepers and 46 " one that had to go back. Picked fish through out the day but no ball of fire, with keepers around the boat and a couple of slot(bonus tag fish) that we have tags for. We are NOW sailing 3/4 day from 7:30 AM to 2:30 - 3 PM. Fare is now $80, no reservations needed. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Thurs 11/4 Striper time
We made the switch but still only a handful of anglers probably because most did not know we changed over. Went out just to get back into it and it started off slow. Went to another area and wish my phone camera was working with big fish exploding around the boat. Did get a keeper but had to throw back a few that were TOO big, over 38 ". Did more riding around but did get a couple of more keepers and a slot(bonus tag) fish. Thanks for looking in and hope to see you soon. Here are some pics.

Weds 11/3 Time to switch to Stripers
We barely had enough to go out but went anyway. Picked at short black fish and dogfish on the first drop but did get a keeper. Moved farther out and we had fewer dogs but still a slow pick on fish, getting mostly shorts with a few keeper black fish and sea bass, but really not enough. We will therefore switch to stripers that are now starting to turn on. Please stop and get big shads ( 9") and flutter spoons if you can find them. We will be keeping the same schedule the next couple of days, 7:30 AM to 1:30 , and then go to a longer day. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics of the day.

Tues 11/2 Again - bring crabs
We did not have enough to go out on Monday but did go out today with a few. Everybody caught fish but mostly short back fish, few sea bass and dog fish that got annoying, especially for those using clams. We did catch a few keeper black fish including an 8 lber and a few keeper sea bass. Bob Caputo took his limit of one out of the two he caught along with 2 keeper sea bass. Sailing every day, weather permitting, at 7:30 AM for bottom fish(blackfish and sea bass) until Friday 11/5. We will then switch to stripers, with so few coming down for bottom fishing. Thanks for looking in and here are a few pics.
