Mon 5/5 Rain scared the peeps not the fish -Happy cinco de mayo

   Not of lot of fisher people showed up with the rain forecast this morning but with a few from the Prowler and the few that showed up for us, we went out on a not so nice day weather wise but a good day fishing on the water. A cool easterly breeze, fog and some showers but it did not bother the fish, but we did have work for them with a lot of power drifting to get the right drift. Fishing in the bay it was calm as Jamie was high hook with his limit plus 2 keeper fluke along with 17 shorts.  A couple of other people got limits plus good short action kept everyone at the rail. We will be sailing tomorrow again @ 8 M - 2 as we have got a few calls. Here are some pics, including a couple from the last striper trip. Thanks for looking in. Sun 5/4 FLUKE ! time - you should have been here

    We had another great opening day fluke trip this morning with 5 limits (3), two of them had four, some with 2 and one keeper fluke, along with good short action fishing in the bay. Of course I forgot the camera but Mike will post the pictures on my face book page. Now sailing two trips on Weds, Fri, Sat and Sunday, 8 AM - 12:30 and again @ 1:30 to 6 PM. Mon, Tue and Thursday will be one morning trip  from 8 AM to 2 PM. Thanks for looking in.  (pic from last year)

 

Thurs/Fri 5/1 & 2 Couple of more tough ones

     We made it out on both days with only a small group and the fishing was still slow as we only boated a few fish. Beautiful day today and the fish did come up but were hare to stay on and even harder to catch. Back at it tomorrow, but on a half day schedule, 2 trips leaving @ 8 AM and again @ 1:30 pm. Last day for stripers before we switch to fluke on Sunday. Thanks for looking in and here are a couple of pics.

 

Tues/Weds 4/29 & 30 NG and ok

     The fishing (catching) on Tuesday was no good as we tried all over the bay. On Weds we looked over different areas on a report but found nothing. Finally found an area and we put a few in the boat but a couple of big ones went back, up to 39". At the end of the day we found a few more but too big and one too small. At least it was something, and it sounded like it was a tough day; for all the boats, even the charters. Back at it this morning leaving @ 7:30 AM. Tomorrow will be our last 3/4 day trip as we will switch to 2 half day trips on the weekend, then 6 hr trips on Monday, Tues and Thursday, 2 half day trips on the other days, all leaving @ 8 AM. Fluke starting Sunday May 4 .Thanks for looking in an here are some pics.

 

 

Sun/ Mon 4/28 & 29 They were wrong but caught some today

    The weather people, with all their fancy electronics and equipment got it wrong for Sunday as it blew over 40 mph and the fishing was not good as we had to hide from it in the back of the bay. Today could have not been nicer, weather wise, but we only caught a few fish and only a few people, with Jamie being high hook with 3 keepers. Back at it tomorrow and every day, until Fluke season, on May 4, sailing 3/4 day through Friday for stripers, and then switching to 1/2 day on the weekend. From then on it will be 1/2 day, Weds, Fri, Sat. and Sunday.  6 hr trips on Monday, Tues and Thurs, 8 AM - 2 PM. Thanks for looking in and here are a couple of pics.

 

 

Sat 4/26 Another decent day for Stripers - Sailing tomorrow, Sun unless.

     We ended up being the only boat to go out with the slow and low turnout on the dock as we got a few from the other boats. The weather was not bad and only got a few showers late in the day. We manage to cover all the boxes with mostly overs (>31") some shorts(<28") and some keeper stripers. We will be going out in the morning, Sunday, UNLESS they change the wind forecast to Gale force, only supposed to be small craft. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics. 

Fri 2/25 Not as good as yesterday but ok. Sailing tomorrow, Sat

        We heard the fish were up on the way, and not far. But when we got there the boats were clustered together so we squeezed in and got one right away. Looked around and managed to get one or two here and there the rest of the day. Mostly overs(fish too big to keep to 40") , couple of shorts and keepers. We will be going out tomorrow despite the showers forecast, I got a few calls. We are also going on Sunday but it will be windy, that will turn them on. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.
