Fri/ Sat 8/8 & 9 Local had to work

Between the roll in the ocean and shorter trip schedule we had to stay a little more local but still caught fish but not as many as we would like. A lot of rod rentals also help made the decision of not fishing the sticky bottom, where people get stuck and lose rigs. With that being said we did have short fluke  action along with the croakers, skates, dogfish sharks and also did put a few keeper fluke in the boat on all the trips. Back at it this morning running our 2 half day trips @ 8 AM and again @ 1:30 PM. Please give yourself enough time to come down and park  and don't call and say can I wait 10 minutes as the trip is short enough. And if you are coming with a small group, come early so we can get you together. Thanks for looking in and here are pics of some of the keepers.

Weds/Thurs 8/6 & 7 Mahoney's back & made it work

On Weds the easterly weather kicked in so we were restricted as to where we could fish and be half way comfortable on the morning trip. We did have some short fluke action and put a few keepers in the boat with Jerry Mahoney taking the pool, almost 4 lbs, good for him as he has had a rough go lately. On the afternoon trip we stayed more local and also had some short fluke action along with the other fish and put a few more keeper fluke  in the boat as Bill L caught his two keepers, but not nearly enough for the groups we had on both trips but at least it was not terrible. Today we had more time but could not fish the ocean, at least we have options up here. Had ok short action and almost double digits in keeper fluke with Jeff taking the pool. Back on our two trip schedule for the next few days so hope ot wee you down on the dock. Summers end is coming and we are getting busy, especially on the week end mornings so come down early if you have a few people with you. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Tues 8/5 Well almost as good

We went back out to where we had some good fluke keeper action but it did not happen, too many boats or cleaned it up yesterday. Made a few drifts but only a couple of keeper fluke and shorts along with a few sea bass, was not gonna work. Went down to another area and first drift, not so good but made another and and they started to bite. Good short action of sea bass and fluke along with some keepers in the mix. Ended the day ok with keeper fluke and sea bass around the boat. Mike took the pool. To top things off we encountered two whales on the way, the second put on a better show leaping out to feed on the bait with is mouth open. We also saw a few dolphin on the way in. Thanks for looking in and here are pics of some of the keepers.

Mon 8/4 Can we do it again

We ran our 6 hr trip today and found an area of some hungry keepers along with some sea bass. Not fast fishing and not a lot of short action but put a good amount of keeper fluke in the boat, one of the better trips lately. 3 limits and one over the limit, Jimmy with 4, Bob W and Ed C(teacher ed) had their limits, who also leads the monthly pool with a 4.75 lber.  The area we fished is a little sticky so do not bring light noodle rods, you need something stiffer. Hope to get back out there again but note there is a big swell, not rough, but some may not like it. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Fri, Sat, Sunday reports - 8/1 -2 -3 Some time local works

Sorry I have not posted in a few days but sometimes life gets in the way of work, but after 43 years in business, it should be ok. Friday morning none of the boats sailed with the forecast and winds. We did  however shape up and make it out in the afternoon with a few nice family groups and did not know what to expect after the T storms and rain. We did  have some action with the short fluke and only managed a keeper for the pool, but the people seemed to have fun. Over the weekend we stayed more local and had decent action with the fish, mostly shorts and other fish, but not as many keeper fluke as we would like however some went home with dinner. The afternoons were a little better keeper wise maybe because of conditions and less boats. Today, Chris came out on both trips to boat 25 shorts in the AM and almost as many in the PM with 2 keepers and the pool, so there was plenty of action for those who worked at it. Yes we are sailing everyday, some one called and asked if we were since I did not post lately. Thanks for looking in and ;here are some pics.
