Fri 10/21 report - Stripers Tomorrow Saturday

It was a ice day on the ocean and we picked away at the sea bass and some black fish, mostly shorts, but there was action all day. For the way it has been we did ok but we will still be switching to striped bass tomorrow,  Sat 10/ 22. Bring your medium action spin rods if you have them with swim shads, bunker snaggers, ( weighted treble hooks), etc. I am tired of hearing of when will you go for stripers, we are now so come down as the bite is on. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Friday 10/21 May be Striper time

We did not make it out the last two days with lack of participation (only a couple of people coming down) and some of the bottom fishing report were not good yesterday. We will be bottom fishing today for Sea bass, blackfish and porgies, bring your own crabs we have clams for bait. With that said we will switch to striped bass tomorrow, Saturday unless something drastic happens. Thanks for looking and stay tuned.

10/18 first 3/4 day trip was ok

No boats went out on m\]Monday with the forecast but it was wrong again. Today we were the only boat out with  enough for one boat. Went to areas a little farther off and picked at the fish. Decent short action by the end of the day with a fair amount of keepers. Ben took his one blackfish limit of the three caught along with some sea bass as did Howard who also had three keeper blackfish and a couple  of sea bass. Keeper seabass and some porgies around the boat.  Back at it tomorrow AM @ 7:30 AM , and thanks for looking in. here are a few pics.

Sunday last half day -3/4 days now @ 7:30 AM

We finally got two trips with nice weather and we picked at the fish but not many keepers. Mostly sea bass and very few porgies and a few black fish. Shawn took the pool with one of his two,(limit is one now)  We are now switching to 3/4 day, one trip, leaving @ 7:30 AM, every day, weather and people permitting. Thanks for looking in and we only supply clams so if you want to try for black fish pick up some green crabs. I think it is too early for  party boat stripers that most of my calls are asking about but we will wait until the jigging bite turns on, hope fully in week or two so stay tuned.

Sat 10/15 Conditions - no wind to wrong wind

On the AM trip there was no wind or current to hold us on the spot, just a big swell but not rough. Tried anchoring but no good so we did a few drifts only to pock a few fish.  Anchored again and stayed on a spot and picked  better, short and keeper sea bass and a few porgies. Made one last drift to get good shot of fish before going in, but over all not a good morning. On the afternoon trip the southerly winds kicked up against the out going tide(current) sis not make it nice and the fish shut down, tough afternoon. Today, Sunday looks much better but we will NOT be going out on Monday 10/17. Thanks for looking in and here are some pics.

Friday 10/14 Not bad

We were the only boat to try and go out this morning but I was not sure what to expect. With wind forecast and big swell I was almost hesitant to go but we did and it turned out better than I thought it would. It was breezy but not rough just a big swell from the south east with a northwest wind.  Picked away at the sea bass with double headers of shorts and keepers also around the boat. Back at it tomorrow and Sunday sailing at 8 AM and again @ 1:30 PM . Starting Monday we will be 3/4 day leaving @ 7:30 AM and back around 2:30 PM, those trips are $ 90 for adults. If you want to try for black fish pick up some crabs as we only supply clams. Thanks for looking in and here are just a few pics. By the way the car show is in town so if your coming in the afternoon give your self some extra time as there may be a detour.
