We tried a couple of areas in the morning waiting for better conditions, wind and tide together. On the first drift we boated a keeper striped bass, which we haven't seen in a while, and a couple of fluke. We then got hung up in fish pots so we moved to a couple of other areas and got hung up again, they are all over. Few fish here and there until the tide change and then headed up to where the action has been good but only a slow pick on the fish. On the afternoon trip we picked right away until a squall came through with rain and wind. Ended up with as many keepers to 6 1/2 lbs with only half the anglers as on the morning trip. We will give it a go this morning but not sailing in the afternoon with the weather forecast. Here are the pics and thanks for looking in.

Monday 6/6
On yesterdays report I put the wrong date, oops. Had a beautiful day weatherwise and thought with the god conditions it would be good fishing. We tried a couple of drifts in the bay waiting for the tide change and picked some shorts and a couple of keepers. Moved out to where we have been catching them but only picked away for one drift until a big tug came through and then that was it. It turned out ok but not as good as Friday and Saturday. Went out in the afternoon expecting to get one or two good drifts in before the tide change but it did not happen. Caught some big blues and a few shorts so we moved on since a ship was coming through. Did find one area that produced some fish where teacher Ed boated 4 keepers one one drift and then another one on the next to limit out. Not a lot of keepers overall but ok..Forgot the camera so will post pics later. Today looks good and maybe tomorrow morning but not sure about the afternoon with wind and t storms. Thanks for looking in.

Sunday 6/6 Conditions & Bob called it
Despite the bad forecast we did get out on the morning trip. South east winds and ebb tide fought each other for the wrong drift in the channel combined with a few ships going through it hurt the fishing there. We did manage to put a catch of keepers and shorts including a 7 1/2lber by 8 yr old nick. He and dad reeled the pool fish in and Mate Tim had Nick reel in a big blue. He will sleep good. Bob Caputo called it when he saw little Nick get on the boat and said there goes the pool. No boats got out in the afternoon but the rest of the week looks good, if you are not sure give us a call. Here are a couple of pics and thanks for looking in.

Sat 6/4 Back to back good ones
We finally got good conditions in the morning and had some great fishing. Carissa and Mike combined for 7 keepers, Carlos and Sandra 4 keepers, several with 2 and 3 keepers. etc. Nice spread of fish all around the boat. The afternoon trip also turned out good but not as good as the morning as the drift got fast at the end of the afternoon. Pool winners around 6 lbs on both trips. Today, Sunday, we hope to get the morning trip in but not sure about the afternoon. Here are a few pics, thanks for looking and hope to see you soon.

Friday 6/3 Fluke Fest on a blown forecast
They did it again. Weaterpeople predicted rain and showers and all we got was a couple of sprinkles. We barely made it out on the morning trip and had no drift but managed some keepers and shorts with as many keepers as fishermen. On the afternoon trip a few more showed up but not a gang, and they are glad they did. Drifted over 3 hrs and had many limits plus. Best fishing trip this year with some anglers taking there limit out of 6 & 7 keepers with mostly quality fish to over 6 lbs so even I took home a couple. Sailing every day RAIN or shine, hope this fishing will keep up but if there are a ton of boats out it will be cleaned up quick. Here are some pics.

Thurs 6/2 surprise !
I got down the boat and only 4 on board around 7 a m. then to our surprise quite a few more showed up but at the boat it was cool, cloudy and breezy. I' m sure up north was nice but compared to yesterday we did not expect a big turn out. Went out with the old wind against tide and very little drift so we knew we were in for a tough morning. Picked a few beauties but not enough so tried other areas with the same results. The last area we fished we pick enough to double the catch and semi save the day with Bill Bergen ending up with 4 keepers. On the afternoon trip we expected a repeat of yesterday but it didn't happen right away. Had to go a little farther ant then started picking some nice fish with a few big blues mixed in. Ended up a nice afternoon for fishing as Roger Lee got his limit of 5 but the weather was not that nice with most wearing sweatshirts. Pool winners on both trips about 6 lbs so here are some pics and hope to see you soon. Sailing daily rain or shine.

What a day Wednesday 6/1
First let me apologize for the typos in the last few posts, although nobody said anything. Not a good turnout as far as fishermen but the fish did. Had a good morning for a change with Mike Jackson catching his limit of 5 and taking the pool. Backpack Bob came back this morning, after his limit yesterday afternoon, to get 3 keepers and stayed on for the afternoon to finish his limit with two more. Wayne got his 4 keepers for the morning and others had 2. On the afternoon trip we made a long first drift where we picked on shorts and keepers, enough where Freddy got his limit of 5 and others with 2 and 3 keepers. At 2016 standards catching more keepers than having fishermen on board is a good day, but this afternoon we had double the keepers to fisherpeople ratio and everyone went home with fish. Hope to see you soon, thanks for looking in, and here are some pics.
