5/21 report - Great start for Fluke

Despite the bad weather forecast for today we had a decent turnout in the morning and compared to last years start it was pretty good fishing with several fishermen catching 3 keepers and some 2 on down, along with some short action but not a lot. Even the afternoon trip turned out better than expected with 3 anglers landing 3 keepers each including Vinny Battista with a 5 and a 6 lber to take the pool and even a gentleman with a rod rental had 3 keepers. Jimmy Lee who caught 3 keepers in the morning came back out but did not have as good a trip, but he did drop a big one that we will go back after. We also had a few blues mixed in the catch today. Here are some pics and hope to see you soon.

5/20 U missed it - now its FLUKE time

We had 2 good back to back trips on Friday with beautiful weather and great fishing. Everyone on board caught more than they wanted (up to 18 lbs on the scale) to take home and had sore arms to go home with too. I know most of you were looking to catch striped bass but pound for pound a blue fish puts a striper to shame as far as the fight goes. Sure striped bass get to be 40 and 50 lbs but I cant imagine how hard a 40 or 50 lb blue would fight like, especially in the current.  Anyway now will be Fluke fishing the rest of the summer sailing two trips daily, rain or shine, 8 AM & 1:30 PM.  Here are some pics and hope to see you on the dock.

Thurs 5/19 fishing report

We made it out on the morning trip with only a few anglers  but only a couple of guys showed up for the afternoon. We ran off to where fish were being caught on jigs but only caught a few. When back to the area we have been chumming fish and got a nice pick going with everyone going home with what they wanted. We will be back at it today, it's supposed to be very nice, for the last blue/striper trips and then will be switching over to Fluke tomorrow Saturday 5/21. Hope to see you soon and thanks for looking in. Here are a few pics.

Thursday 5/19 update

We have not been out since Saturday with the winds on Sun and Mon and nobody showing up on the other days. We are still trying to sail 2 trips every day and will switch to FLUKE on Saturday May 21. The fishing for the big blues is still good so if you want so if you want some fun with strong fighting fish, come give it a shot. Please note that if you use spider wire type of line, we respectfully request that you do not fish in the back of the boat  (back of cabin to stern) unless we are only drifting one side are at anchor. This type of line causes a lot more damage than monofilament line on the shafts and cutlasses. Hope to see you soon and one other note, with all the big blues around , make sure to bring extra spro jigs. If you need any more info please give me a call and if I do not answer leave a message and number to call you back at. Thank you for looking in.

Saturday 5/14 Almost & more blues

Had a nice morning on Sat that started a little slow but then we picked on some nice blues and lost at least 2 stripers.  On the afternoon trip it got cool with the southerly winds but still not bad.  Had a group of boy scouts among a few regulars and they had a blast catching and losing some big blues to 17 lbs. The kids were great and well behaved but forgot the motto of " be prepared", so they were a little chilled in there T shirts and shorts. Here are a few pics and the next few days do look so good with the wind forecast on Monday and showers on Tues and Weds so give s a call before coming down.

Friday 5/13

The weather was not as nice as yesterday and the fishing was not as good but we did pick away missing more than we landed with bite offs etc.  Everyone though went home with what they wanted and there were even leftovers.  Sailing tomorrow both trips but the afternoon trip will leave at 1 pm not 1:30. Not sure about Sunday since they call for a lot of wind, so give us a call. One more week till FLUKE.

Thurs 5/12 They're back

After a poor Tuesday and not making it out on Weds (which was also poor), we got out with another small group on Thursday. Started with bait but could not get them going good so we shot over to where some birds were working and immediately had fish on jigs and even had a couple on bait. Had an excellent first drift to give us more than we wanted to take.  Everyone caught fish, even a mother and daughter team, and went home with what they wanted but it was all blue fish. We squeaked out with a handful in the afternoon, started chumming and waited for the bite.  It didn't happen, only a couple blues here and there each time we moved. We did manage a nice keeper 20+ inch fluke that will be waiting for us next week. This morning looks ok but the afternoon has showers in the forecast so I don't not think enough will show up. Saturday (5/14) we will sail out afternoon trip form 1 PM  to 5:30 PM so get down early. Hope to see you soon, here are a few pics.
