It was a very nice morning with no wind and nice temps. We picked on a long drift that was good enough to stay with - shorts, sea robins, dogfish and a few keepers. Art who the day before had 3 keeper fluke did not get any, but Gary ended up with three keepers and almost the pool, but got beat by a 4 1/2 lber which happened to be the first keeper on the boat. Ended with a decent morning relatively speaking. On the afternoon the southerly winds kicked up so we could not fish where we wanted and picked at shorts etc but only had a couple of keepers for the afternoon. Here are some pics and we are still hanging in there with the fluke untill the end of the fluke season, Sept 25, then switching to half day porgy fishing.

Monday 9/12 Lucky or good
The fishing remains challenging to say the least picking at a few short fluke and other fish including a few small blues. A long time customer Art however, did end up with 3 keeper fluke on the morning trip but an old neighbor of mine John Adams, took the pool. Not the same Artie from last week with the limit catch, and two on the next time he came out. We had the same results on the afternoon trip, but the keepers were spread around the boat. Here are a couple of pics of the catches. Still sailing two trips every day.

Sunday 9/11 Never Forget
The morning started out with a southerly breeze that went to the west and northwest and then turned on. Made it tough to fish where we would have liked to but we got by. On the afternoon trip I was kinda hoping we we would not have a enough to go but we did and had to fish up to the north to get out of the roll. Picked on both trips, shorts and a few keepers along with the usual other fish. Here are a few pics minus Kathy (Bills friend) who got the pool in the afternoon but did not want her pic taken.

Sat 9/10 Still a few around
We had to work hard but we did put some keepers on board with the brothers ( Frank and Ron) and son getting 4 along with the pool. For the way it has been it was not a bad morning. On the afternoon trip put together a few more keepers and and shorts but it is a lot of work. Here are a few pics and hope to see you soon before the fluke season is over.
Friday 9/9 report
We made it out on both trips on Friday with light crowds and one side fishing. We do this so the mate can see everyone on one side and people won't get tangled with others under the boat. You are always welcome to fish the other side in that case but please be considerate and keep the line short and try not to dirty up the whole side. We picked at mostly shorts with only a few keepers mixed in on both trips. On the afternoon trip Kathy wound up with 2 beauties on the first drift but husband Fred beat her out the pool on the next one. We could have used some more breeze for the drift but made due. Here are only a couple of pics so hope to see you soon as we are still sailing two trips every day.

Thurs 9/8 Finally out and a rebound
Got out this morning with only a few anglers and all the boats were light. Went to where we caught a few before the storm only to find some shorts, sea robins and dogfish. Bounced around other spots with the same results, so it was a not a good morning. Headed out in the afternoon with a few more fishermen and tried some local spots first. We ended up with a much better afternoon with Artie getting the pool with one of his limit of keepers, think he also played the lottery today so good luck with that. Other anglers had a couple of keepers each and some with only one. All in all much better than the morning. Here are a few pics with Artie holding only 2 of his 5.

1 out of 3 - Not sailing today
The weather people finally got it right today after being wrong the last two so therefore we will not be going out till tomorrow. Hermine decided to move in a little closer to give us a taste of the storm. We will see what tomorrow brings and will try again.
